When did you join MyLot and why?

I just learned about MyLot from a blog that I've just read. I explored and found out that some of my connections from the previous site are now quite active and happy here, so I joined today!
I've joined to reconnect with some of my online friends. I also have a facebook account but it's mostly for family and school friends and colleagues.
I'm from Australia. Where are you from?

Welcome to MyLot! We have people from all over the world here and many of them choose to show where they're from in their profiles, which helps a little bit in understanding something about their background and culture and when they are likely to be online. I live in Cambridge in the UK, for example, so I know that our seasons are six months or so different and while it's 7 in the morning here, it's 4 in the afternoon for you! I joined MyLot about 9 years ago, so I'm one of the oldest members here.
MyLot is a very friendly site and if your 'other site' was Bubblews, you'll probably find quite a few friends here. A lot of ex-B's have joined recently and have added immensely to the community. We don't have any restriction here on the number of discussions you can start a day and nor are there any upper or lower limits on the number of words. It's all down to common sense, really.
The first two things you should look at are the Community Guidelines (aka 'Rules') and the Earnings Program FAQs, which will tell you the basics of how the site works and what you need to do to get the best out of the site.
Finding your way around a new site is often daunting, so I have written a short guide and also tried to answer some of the commonest questions newcomers have about the site. You can find it here:

Of course we know each other at Bubblews and am so glad you have joined myLot and surely you can reconnect with familiar faces here and others as well. I've been here since the old mylot. This is almost the same as Bubblews except for the fact that myLot has always been honest to its members.

@vickyrose I love the ease of talking to people on the other side of the planet - I remember having a pen friend as a child - it took a month for replies and letters to pass between us

I joined 9 years ago just after the Site started up and I was told about it by a Friend I had not long been on the Internet everything was new for me but I enjoyed it here made a lot of Friends so stayed .............nearly 3 years ago I came away from here for personal reasons but decided to come back last week and I still enjoy it here

I was campinsanity there, I started as the name I have here but couldn't get support to help me (exactly what is still going on there) so I had to change my name and delete the other.

I'm English but have retired to Greece with my Greek husband. He wanted to retire in the sunshine and I must admit he has a point. The sea is still warm enough to swim here. I joined a few days ago and am delighted to find some old Bubblers here too.
