Have you been a Victim of a Crime?

The odds are that you or someone close to you have been victimized at least once, and possibly more than once. Several years ago our house was broken into and some items were taken although they were of no value to anyone but me. I suspected a lady and her son across the street but I was never able to prove it so no one was ever convicted of this crime. Since it was not a high value crime I don't think much effort was put into finding the person who did this. I would have loved to have come home while they were inside my house because they would have gone out in an ambulance. How about you have you ever been victimized and what were the circumstances.

My father's sister's son is a pedophile. I had hell of a time trying to convince dad to break ties with them.

Glad that you were able to as you don't want to be associated with someone like that family or not.

They took my photo album too when our house was burgled. And I felt so bad about this, that I gave up the photography. I had spent months of my savings from the pocket money in buying those metal designs and then getting them all done for the photo album. Since then, I never had any camera until when my wife got one on her handset.

that made you not want to do any more photograph, I can understand that after saving for so long and then have someone take it.

It's worse when something personal and sentimental goes than when it is something financially valuable

@arthurchappell agree with you there. it is depressing when something more personal has been taken away from you.

Many years ago my car was stolen. It was found a few days later about 100 miles away. When I went to pick it up, whoever had stolen it had put four brand new wheels on it. I never mentioned it to the police. I didn't fancy them taking the wheels off for evidence and leaving me stuck 100 miles from home!!

@TheHorse No! They were much better than my original wheels. I suspect there was a similar car somewhere nearby without any wheels!!

New tires I'd be happy with. But they didn't put silly poor people rims on there, did they?

Two summers ago our house was broken into. The burglar didn't manage to get anything because he thought no one was home and my mom ran him off.

I had a boy about ten once with a pocket knife walk up to me and say give me all your money. I knocked the knife on the ground and stepped on it and he ran away without his knife. I guess that I was really not a victim. But glad I stopped him.

I was twice been a victim of thieves. they stole my bracelet and other jewelries. One while in a public transport so there were many of us. Another jewelry was stolen in our house and yes it is the helper whom I suspect also.

My first baby, we were sleeping and I think they had sprayed something coz the dog never barked. They took everything and left with their footprints all over the house coz they did it one rainy day. Maybe that was their purpose to do it on a rainy day so none can hear. They ransack everything but they never hurt anyone coz everyone was sleeping. Only my sister in law who was in the house knew that somebody was inside but she couldn't call us coz she was afraid. I thank God that the burglars never came in the room. When we woke up everything was gone.

My daughter & I lived with my Mom at the time @Marcyaz and it was around 4pm when we got home. When I saw the back door was open I told my daughter to go to the neighbors and call the police. When I walked into the living room, I saw both TV's sitting there along with jewelry. I went to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and as I went room to room, I told the intruders I hoped they were still there because they wouldn't be leaving. Come to find out when we pulled up, they were on the 2nd story and saw us coming. They went down to the basement and when I made entry to the house, they escaped out the garage. Lucky them.

Yes, we had a home invasion and the man was hiding under my daughter's bed. Thank God she wasn't in it but she was four and was traumatised for over a year. It was horrible!

@Marcyaz yes it was. For a year she held onto my clothing when at home. I got so used to it and missed it when she stopped. Her father and her teenage brothers made a citizen's arrest exactly one year later when the man came to visit his family at Christmas. Only after that did she feel safe but she never slept in that room again.

a crime as in a robbery, no. But an assault, mainly a nap attack? Yes. Not a good that that was. That person will soon pay for their little attempt on me. Without a doubt. Cannot say anymore. it needs to be kept under raps for a long time.

Someone broke into my house when I was younger. They stole all of my parents' money and also some other valuables. Our family was hit hard by this... it was a really tough time. Things are better now, but I'll never forget what happened. They never caught the person who did it either.
