Diary Tuesday 20th October 2015

Photo – Manchester bus, taken by me.
Preston, England
October 21, 2015 8:58am CST
The daytime saw nothing happen that I’d consider writing about but the evening was much more interesting. I was attending a debate with a philosophy group in Chorlton, South Manchester. I go most months though I missed the September event when the date was changed at the last minute. I’ve reviewed the discussion separately. I set out to go there early to take photos round Chorlton, but it was getting dark earlier so the lighting was poor. I got far fewer shots than planned. I would have taken more had the bus not been delayed by heavy traffic congestion on route. I went a library near the meeting venue for a while and then headed to the pub used for the meeting. Some of my friends were already there and invited me to a pre-Christmas social gathering in December which I hope to attend. The return journey was uneventful, but I got home late and too tired to write much online. Arthur Chappell

Hey Arthur! Let me get this straight. Were there not angels (invisible beings) at the birth of Christ?

@arthurchappell Sorry! It is just the Christmas story contains angels and was wondering on your thoughts about the angels in the story as to what you thought of that?

@1hopefulman a mythical construct - nothing more. I see Christmas as a secular social occasion - the idea of peace and good will to all men and women appeals to atheists too

@1hopefulman does this relate to a different discussion? There's nothing about angels here.

@rahulvsmokiee that's fine. A lot of people describe their day on here without realizing that is basically a diary

@arthurchappell I have lots of diaries that I wrote throughout my life and now and then they inspire some posts. Now I mainly keep a diary about the things I do on the net and what I post and what I still need to do.

I like to write a short diary of my day, it's a nice way to remember what we did and what it happened.
