How young is too young for Facebook?

October 22, 2015 6:28pm CST
I've seen many of my friends' kids on Facebook, and thought, how young is too young for Facebook? Even though there is an age requirement of 13 years old, there are people that make Facebook pages FOR their children (I personally think 13 is still too young). What do you think? When will you let your child(ren) go on Facebook?

I know people that have made Facebook pages for their kids and built them up with pictures etc to then give to their kids later. That's a little excessive for me. I think I'll know when the time comes to allow my kids to have their own page. A lot of things will be factored in such as behavior, how much their are already on electronics, if they've deomonstrated social responsibility, etc. I think around 13-15 I'll allow it, depending on those factors.

I don't have kids but if I did I think I'd keep them off FB for good.

All of my kids have Facebook pages because they like playing the games. They don't really use it for anything else but the games, and they are hardly ever on there anyway. 4 of my kids aren't even 13 yet... and actually the 2 that turn 13 next month no longer use Facebook because they're bored with it. They use Instagram and some other things instead.

I've even seen toddlers have facebook profiles... i don't think they are the ones who made it and update it though but if they are, that is just shocking. if i had a kid, i wouldn't let him or her go on facebook until he is 15 or 16
