The other day, as I drove up to Taupo, I mentioned this tiny place called Taihape was so busy in town that I went to a small restaurant out on the main road for lunch. Today, on my homeward trip, I'm a bit earlier and stopped for coffee at this little Taihape café. It's my favourite and today the weather was warm enough for me to sit out in the courtyard garden as I enjoyed my coffee. Another great thing about Taihape is, you can sit in your car in the main street and access WiFi, as I'm doing now. Getting closer to home again, more photos to come later.

Great to be able to sit out and have a cuppa .. I enjoy these trips.. but most of my coffee drinking is done at home.

Well, I do drink far more coffee at home than out, but I am also a big fan of our New Zealand cafe culture.

@valmnz There are a couple of places here you can sit outside but only in the summer months here.

Free wifi is a good enough reason to stop anywhere. I still have missing stops to find and catch up to. It's been a really tiring day,

Some places I go there is no wifi so no service and that is difficult when you need to reach someone. Always looking for a cafe that says free wifi.

I have not yet accessed Wifi here. Anyway most of the time I am at home and my new ISP is giving me good service - fingers crossed. That's a pretty picture you have got there. I see a couple there too enjoying their cuppa

I was at the next table over from them, but wanted to be discreet when taking the photo. People don't like their privacy being invaded.

That looks like a very nice spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and snacks! Wifi access is a great plus, for sure.

Sadly it didn't occur to me to take my tablet into the cafe. I took the photo on my phone. Their garden courtyard is lovely and the weather was warm enough to sit outside, even at that time of morning.

@valmnz I'm sure! Here people would usually prefer indoor cafes since the weather can be pretty unbearable even before noon. But if the weather isn't too hot I'd actually prefer sitting outside.

i'd sure enjoy sittin' in that courtyard, how invitin' is that? by the way, what sorta tree is that? i love the way the trunks twisted 'n the canopy formed.

That is a really nice picture and I love the sandbox the children are playing in also nice tables outside to sit and enjoy the weather while having lunch. They have some beautiful flowers in the courtyard garden. Nice to be able to sit in your car and access Wifi from the street.
