Another Bad News

This morning I woke up to the sound of another bad news. Another earthquake, this time on a scale of 7.5 which is awfully high. So far there are at least 46 people dead that we know of. When I was about 5 years old I was playing outside (Quebec, Canada) and I felt the ground moving under my feet. It was so scary although it lasted only a few seconds. Nothing was destroyed. So I can imagine the terror that people felt in this earthquake with that intensity. Have you ever felt an earthquake?

We have had several very small ones in our area, we never felt them thank goodness. We are living on a fault line that they say is more severe than originally thought.

Are you nervous about it now that you know that the fault line is more severe?

They are having a lot in Oklahoma lately. Some say it is associated with the oil drilling. I have felt them when I visit there. I lived in San Diego and felt them there as well.

We once felt an earthquake here in Mass that was actually centered in Quebec. That was many years ago. It's a weird feeling.

We have had smaller earthquakes here. But nothing like some of the earthquakes that my aunt survived when living in Peru, South America.

@marlina No, they worked the poor and being from Canada, they were discriminated against for a number of reasons. They were followed to the dump because they were considered "rich" and the locals would pilfer thru their garbage to get their cast offs, she was held hostage and almost raped over a home invasion, and as hard as they tried to fit in to help, they couldn't, they were too pale in skin to compare with the locals. It was difficult work but she stuck it out for about 20 years. The hysteria that followed those earthquakes she has spoken of, and the need for such basic essentials she used to talk about. We take for granted what we have here.

I felt an earthquake before too. I was at work and all of a sudden i was sitting in my chair and it started moving and the floor rocked a bit. Later we found out there was an earth quake and was felt all over. I pray for all involved.

I have read this sad news, I have experienced several earthquakes. I remember the one of May 2012 in Milan while I was visiting my Mother it was a 5.8, another when I still lived in Monte-Carlo in February 2001, high building big scare. But the worst was in 1976, always in Milan, 6.5, all the house shacked and I had a feeling of nausea and loss of balance.

fortunately not yet. In Sri lanka (a country near india) we very rarely experience an earthquake most of the times it is not easily noted by people. That means hte magnitude of a such earthquake is very minute indeed
