I stopped at the Wawa (a regional convenience store) near my daughter's office this morning to buy her some milk for the cereal she was taking in and decided to look at their sandwiches to see if anything grabbed my attention this morning. That's when I saw it - The Gobbler!! The Gobbler is a seasonal sandwich that contains deli turkey, hot stuffing, mayonnaise, and cranberry sauce. (I know - the mayo sounds out of place, but it works.) I had mine on a 6" whole grain hoagie roll. It was delicious!!
The first time I ever heard of putting Thanksgiving into a sandwich was up on Cape Cod at a local eatery along the waterfront. I thought the sandwich was pure genius! Now they are appearing regularly all over, but I love it! And, some places have them off-season. Even better!
I'm not much of a sandwich eater (although I do enjoy PBJ), but these sandwiches really pull me in. Do you have a seasonal favorite that is eaten in a non-normal fashion?

That does not sound like something that I would normally try, but I must be hungry, because it actually sounds pretty good at the moment.
I tend to do everything in a "non-normal" fashion, so I guess that would actually make it normal for me.

@jerzgirl I am now going to have to check and see whether or not this sandwich is available in my area, because I really want to try it. I am not a huge fan of mayonnaise, but I do like it on turkey. I also do not like cranberry sauce unless it is the homemade kind, but the combination sounds intriguing and like it might actually work.

@purplealabaster Many places use the turkey gravy instead of the mayonnaise. I really like those!
