Internet not connecting

Does anyone else have a problem on this site as I do. I know I am on here many hours but I never get kicked off any other site. I get the message, Internet lost connection and then I lose what I am doing and I have to log on again. Any reason this would happen? I get so frustrated, especially after writing a long post. Maybe that is the problem.

I have never known this site (or any other) to cause a dropped connection. MyLot does occasionally have server errors and, if your Internet connection is slow and has a lot of jitter, a server error could conceivably cause your device to think that it has disconnected from the Internet. I have to say, though, that in 9 years of being on MyLot, I have never seen anyone reporting that it has disconnected their Internet.

I wondered if it could be a hard wire problem and not a site problem. Thanks for answering her.

@rebelann Not necessarily, Ann. A hard wire issue would cause all sites to react alike, even if there is no problem using them otherwise. A programming issue could be at fault, but shouldn't cause THIS issue on only this site. If this error has occurred since @ramapo17 started working here, then it could still be a programming issue, but she hasn't complained about it before, leading me to wonder if one of her grandkids has been playing on her pc again?

I haven't had that problem but perhaps @phredwreck or @owlwings or @daddyevil can help, they seem to be the ones with all the techy type knowledge.

It just happened again and the message says- windows caused the program to stop working correctly. I don't get this on any other site. Any ideas?@daddyevil?

Do you just need to login again or reconnect? If you enable remember password then the question of logging again does not arise.

I do not think it could be this site. I have never lost a connection while on it.

No, I've never gotten tossed off of this site. My bank was frozen for much of the past two days, but that was the first technical glitch I've experienced here (that I know of). I've only been here one month.

I have an intermittent connection here, but I know it's my own problem.

I am not finding anything online to explain what seems to be happening with your pc other than a very slow connection, hon. IDK otherwise.

No, Dearheart, I have never run into that problem on this site, but I don't stay on this site exclusively, either. I hop between this site and WA (when it is up) or onto Bubbs (which I seem to be able to access more than most other people) whenever someone mentions something that reminds me to check on them. When nothing interferes with me on this site, I can be here for long stretches without a problem. Normally, if it is your internet at home, you would lose other sites, just as often as this one... let me think about it for a few minutes.

may be your real internet connection is slow. i prefer you to look at your internet speed. if you are writing long post, copy in notepad so that chance of getting lost can be avoided.
