It's Interesting to Read

November 21, 2015 10:20am CST
I've been attempting to salvage my Bubblews posts by finding cached versions on Google. I'm still not sure why some are cached and some are not. And I don't remember the titles to most, so I can't find those. But I have managed to find about 300 posts so far. I'm finding that it is interesting to read through even some of the Good Morning posts or What I Had For Dinner posts. For one thing, as an aspiring writer, I find myself noticing the way I wrote things whether I took the time for good wording (or not). I've also been reminded of little things, mundane things, but LIFE. Busy days with my kids that can be so easily forgotten, yet I wrote about them as I blogged. So I'm still at it, trying to find old posts by either searching my brain for forgotten topics, inputting a random date, or finding links elsewhere that I had created. Tedious, but I'm finding very worth it.

I'm glad you found a way to find them. I hope you will find as many as possible of the meaningful ones. I'm not sure, but maybe this cached thing is done randomly.

I have tried to look for mine that are cached but it is taking forever to load. Did you find it took a long time for yours to load too?

mine are loading fairly quickly, but it is quite tedious. i obviously talk too much (i.e. wrote too much!)

It's so nice to run into people here from bubblews. As i've been finding my old posts, I'm seeing names of folks who commented that I no longer know how to contact. I sure hope some of them find their way here.

I actually found a post of mine on Pinterest. That bothered me that someone took it and posted it there.

@jillybean1222 I didn't know that, thanks. I do not use that website.

@Juliaacv yes, in fact, a lot of people use it to promote their own pages. but mostly, it's used as a sort of memo board to remind you to look at something, maybe a recipe or a blog post you like

sometimes people are posting it there because they liked it though. i posted a few posts from other bubblers on pinterest in order to drive more people to view them. ?

I can't get mine to open. I just get the farewell message from Bubblews.

@jillybean1222 I am also tracking down my Bubblews posts. I do wonder how they decide which ones to cached.

All I ever wanted to do is delete any of my pictures that I had posted. What I wrote about wasn't very good so I don't really care about that.

@rebelann I wish I could have gotten all of my Bubblews articles. I could have rewritten and used them.

When you write for any site, you should always keep a backup copy of your article on your computer.

Yes I did that as I was going in and deleting posts over the last month or so. I still didn't save everything I wanted to but there is nothing lost I will cry over.

I started keeping diaries when I was 10 years old--I still love looking back to see what I was doing in 1967--mundane or not!!! One of the first lessons I was taught when I started on the Internet was to SAVE my writings!!

I anticipated what would happen to Bubblews and other writing sites that I registered in . . I keep all the drafts of my stories and articles in my MS document.

Sorry to hear that some of your posts have been lost. There are ways to see if they are gone for good (apparently - ask @pgn) but I think the most important thing is to start backing up everything you write from now on. Even the smallest jotting may foster a memory one day.

exactly. i'm finding that even the ones that are rather pointless are bringing back memories. and i'm seeing when iw as writing daily (which i haven't been doing lately), i was actually writing better. so i need to get back to that.
