Needs a kick in the butt

Canada

I make polymer clay ornaments, like the one in the picture, I do this every year for people for Christmas. I have about a dozen orders right now, and I NEED to get started on them, but I am dragging my butt because I hate my craftroom, it is downstairs in our cold basement, and it always seems when I go down there someone always needs me for something upstairs. I want to more it into our spare room/stepsons bedroom every 2nd weekend, and have asked the youngest stepson, if he would mind sleeping in my craftroom, and he has no problem with it. But my BF doesn't want my craftroom moved upstairs, with no real good reason behind it. But regardless I don't have the time to move the room right now anyway, I just really need to get my butt in gear and get down there and get at my orders, or I will be right until christmas eve making them, like I did last year. Hugs, Melissa D

If you want to move your craft room then just move it and if he doesn't like it oh well.

Hop to it, then show us more pictures. I know how it is,you need that craftroom readily accessible.

I would say quit procrastinating and stop making excuses just make the clay ornaments or people will stop buying from you altogether. If you would learn how to organize your time and stop making excuses you would do a lot better.

I am a bad procrastinator lol. If I make the ornaments on time, ppl around here will always buy them, I am the only person around who makes them. :)

@Mkds312 then you would have lots of people wanting to buy them and you would not have time to procrastinate anymore.

Oh that is absolutely adorable. I can understand the procrastination in making your crafts. I mean if you can do it in comfort then it makes it harder to find the motivation. Hopefully you can get them done in plenty of time.

I think the fact that our craft room is in a cold basement and there is room upstairs to move it to should be reason enough to move it to where you could use it more comfortably and more often.

If the picture is from your work, it is lovely! Now, get there and work on it. Time is running out!

LOL . . just like me. . my art space is also located in our basement. . I used to have it in one of our rooms upstairs . .but since our granddaughter (our oldest son and family live with us because they need us to help in babysitting our 3 grandkids) turned 10 we decided to have her own bedroom. So, no choice but to go in the basement to draw, paint, and do my art/picture framing. . Basement is not good to do art works as you see nothing to freshen your eyes except the walls . . and I got a feeling of loneliness when I don't see trees, snow, cars passing by. I am more creative when working upstairs.

I can imagine it is inconvenient to come traipsing up the stairs every time someone needs something.

I hope you get your work done. What about a basket that you can fill with materials to bring up and work on but is easy to pack up and put downstairs when not working on it. I would want to be upstairs too. Or find a way to make your craft room more appealing. Anyway good luck

Hi, So, what it seems you need to talk to your boyfriend on the matter. Or better talk to your heart and ask it what you really want. Think no further. Just do it..
