This picture on the website is heartbreaking. A photojournalist was adjusting his lens when he took her picture. She thought it was a gun. She deserves a childhood. A 4 yr old child should not know what it means to have to put your hands up in surrender. Look at her sad little face, see her biting her lips in fear?
A picture of a little girl from Syria posing as if she is surrendering to a photojournalist has gone viral. The four-year-old girl, named Hudea, appeared to have thought that the camera used by the photojournalist was a weapon, according to Buzzfeed.

This is really heartbreaking. It's sad to read such a little girl has to go through those horrible experiences. She is only 4.

When my kids were 4, they were playing outside and playing games or ball and especially liked Duck Duck Goose! I don't imagine little Hudea there has had much time for play.

@Pattitude It's sad to hear what'd happened to Hudea. I wonder what the kids over there usually do. I don't think my children know what surrender is, they are now drawing and talking about trains. Kids at this age should really just play freely.

I checked, the pic was actually taken Dec 2014. Her name is Hudea and lives in a refugee camp, outside of Turkey, with her mother and 2 siblings. Her father was killed by ISIL. There's a picture of another little girl on the below site. Maybe they shouldn't take pictures of the children. They have already probably been through so much trauma and probably most of them saw their fathers being murdered.

That is one sad picture and one sad situation to be in. We can continue to pray that soon these kind of scenes will be gone.

I saw this in the news and agree that it is heartbreaking. No child should have to live this way.

It's terrifying to imagine the damage we're doing to these young people.

The fear in the face of the little girl and the way she raised her hands in peace clearly shows the impact of the violence in her mind. Now a days everywhere, war, fightings, terrorism, violance, arson makes even a small kid to feel insecure

beyond horrible that her parents poisoned her mind with hateful rubbish while she is so young

This is so sad isn't it? That poor little girl. As you say, she shouldn't know what it means to surrender.

Saw that a while back. Very sad and what really is sad is these type of pictures do not even make these violent people pause.
