Air Conditioners finally out of windows

Last evening, two of our grandsons stopped by. I had mention at lunch that we needed help to get the air conditioners out of the windows and up into the attic. Alex and Brandon, my daughter's two oldest sons came by when they were done riding their dirt bikes. These are also the ones who came over with their other brother Chris to help us with the leaves. They are really good boys and as pay for helping us they have asked me to make them an apple pie. I need to get some apples but who can turn down a grandson request for a pie? They will be back today to help us get the Christmas tree and decorations out of the attic.

If it's a pie for air conditioners, I wonder what they will ask for, for helping with the tree and decorations. Perhaps hot chocolate and fudge? Have fun putting up the tree and decorations.

An apple pie is a small price to pay for all that hard work lucky you have strong and willing grandsons to help with the work

That is so sweet that you have such a good recipe for apple pie that the guys would prefer that over anything else! Our son had a soft spot for my Dad when he was alive, and would barter things like that from him if Papa picked him up from an exam when our son didn't have my car or something l like that. You must be great grandparents to have such a wonderful relationship with the boys.

I never had grandparents so I wanted to have that relationship with my grandchildren and it has been a wonderful 27 years of grandparennt hood. These same boys baked Christmas cookies with me when they were small together with their girl cousins. We hadd about 6 or 7 of them who all grew up together rather close in age.

@marlina We did it every year, their moms came and we made tons of cookies, they cut and decorated them, what a mess and so much fun. I would make hot chocolate and make your pizza and we had a great day. I have loads of pictures to prove it lol

I used to be the one to help my Uncle in New York when it was time to remove the air conditioners from their windows. Must have been Thanksgiving.

That makes sense, we like to take advantage of the strong young men on an occasion when they are here rather than having them come at a separate time.

@TheHorse lol yes I think it is common in families across the country to use the strong young men when they are visiting.

@BelleStarr Kind of funny to know that's a "pattern. It's Thanksgiving. Rally the strong guys upstairs (maybe at half time during a football game on TV).

It is nice to have young people who can help us out. One of our grandsons helps with our yardwork, and I really appreciate it (and pay him a little).

I got my air conditioners out a month or more ago, but I have a strapping teen on hand who lives here. It's really helpful to know young, strong men.

It sure is. I have thought of it before but now we are getting done to the wire and I wanted it done before we go to Florida. They would have done it earlier if I had asked them.

Is it a common practice to take the air conditioner out? Over here, we use air conditioners all year round, and we never have to remove it. Most of us use the split unit, and not the window unit.

My house does not have central air conditioning so we use widow models and yes, we need to remove them because it gets very cold here and it would be drafty.

Nice to have some help and what a fee. You must make a brilliant apple pie for them to ask you to bake one for them!

lol I don't think my pie s that brilliant it is rather like my mother made hers except I use a more rustic galette format. I use nutmeg and just a tiny bit of cinnamon and sugar for the flavoring of the apples. I think I will make a comb apple pear which they both like.
