It's a Small Online Writing World / myLot

As we all know, there have been recent arrivals here from the old Bubbles site, but that's not the only place the new arrivals have come from. It seems the online writing world is a small one, and no matter which site you join, there are always people you know from other sites. I have at least one friend here who goes way back to when I wrote on Triond about ten years ago. We seemed to drift in and out of writing sites, such as Wikinut, Factoidz - or Knoji as it's now known - and possibly others, till we both eventually landed here. There are others here too, whose names and faces were instantly recognisable to me when I arrived. I know many of you have also belonged to other sites not mentioned above, sites that you've chosen to leave for one reason or other. Isn't it great that we've all ended up here amongst friends at myLot. And it's even more fun that there are so many new people to get to know as well. Hopefully we won't be moving on from here for a while.

@valmnz Dear old Triond - that's where I started this on line writing stuff and it was kind to me till it started to go down the plug hole. I hope we can all hang around here for a bit longer that any of the failed sites that we've dabbled in.

There are some people who haven't migrated and I keep hoping to see them. I guess the online writing world is a small one, and we all end up in the same places over time.

I'm now in my 15th year of writing on similar sites. Yes, you're right. I've found someone on bubblews I knew from Helium. We're both here now. Others have moved with me from British writing sites to bubblews and then to myLot. May we stay here for many more years!

I've caught up with a few from Helium too. 15 years! Wow! I've no idea when I started in Helium but it must be a good few years now too. Probably more than I think.

Yes, I think it's a small world. I started writing in mylot, and now I am back to it. I hope mylot will always stay, I thought the same when I was writing in Bubblews too.

@marlina no. When I started out ten years ago many sites would only take Americans. At that time Triond and Factoidz were the only ones who would take NZers.

mylot is more like a social network site than an article site. I am sure one will spend more time on mylot than any other websites.

I've been writing on line since 2005. I started on Gather.com I was sad when it closed but found lots of places for my photography and writing. I'm very happy here.

What a nice surprise for me. I mostly know others from Bubblews, pp or Hubpages, though there have been many other ventures. I would love to see more old new friends.
