It sure is hard to be new at something, isn't it?

Well, it hasn't been too hard to be new at myLot. Everyone has been really kind and welcoming. But I meant more generally. :) I started a new part-time job tonight making deliveries. And I am terrible at being new. All my insecurities come out and something that would have been super easy for me 20 years ago seems hard. I am learning how to use my mobile phone to accept jobs, navigate to the location, take photos of receipts, and complete the required paperwork and details in the app. It's not that any of these things are particularly hard. But it's different from most jobs in that there is no one nearby or handy on the phone to ask. It IS possible to text or email support, but I can't do that while I'm driving. And when I am confused about where I am, it's tough to find a place to pull over and send a text. I'm not complaining, just acknowledging my shortcomings. I'm not good at being new. Despite being enthusiastic about the job itself, I am simply overwhelmed about all the things I don't know. How about you - what are your struggles in the early days of a new job or class?

Adjusting to such situation can be very daunting. But I'm sure it will get better as you become more familiar with what's the new job involved. Good luck!

I've been looking at jobs and thinking about learning a new job is just so overwhelming to me. I love working online but sales have been slow and I need more money so I think I need to break out of my comfort zone.

That is EXACTLY what I did with this job. It is proving to be quite a challenge, but I am going to be so proud that I did it. Of course, I'd love it if I got enough steady writing work to pay the bills. Then I'd just do this a few times a week. But as I said, I'll be very happy to have learned how to do a job completely based off of a mobile phone app. Not bad for 52. :)

Being new on any job is hard, and I always feel so uncomfortable for a while until I get used to it. I hope you start feeling more comfortable and secure in your abilities.

@Letranknight2015 That is so sweet, thank you! When I was young, I was smart and bold and never afraid. I know I'm not "old" but as more years pass, I get less competent and more fearful. But I will forge ahead. That's all I know how to do. :)

Sometimes it is hard to figure out things. But once you do it is easy.

I have always found a new job quite a challenge. It is such a relief when little struggles are overcome and things start to fall into place.

There are so many like you who never take interest in learning new things although if they just made an attempt it would be cakewalk for them.

its always happened while we start new job,we feel little uncomfortable because we not know them and we not do same work before so feel little nervous because if we make mistake then what they say like this thinking.so after some time we become friendly to it and do more easily but first few day we have to do struggle little. Best of luck for your new job.
