Poem - To Think They Said I Was Mad! Ha Ha Ha!

The following poem involves a challenge to incorporate the words Softly, Eggplant, Snow, Yesterday and Potent. I first saw it on a page written by @Koalamos though the challenge was initially started by @JesicaLynnt To Think They Said I Was Mad! Ha Ha Ha! O mighty Eggplant? Which are the seeds, the whites, shells or yolks? How long before an egg tree grows? I planted mine yesterday. How Humpty Dumpty of me to fall for such jokes Surely everyone knows Eggs grow in cartons on display In supermarkets just as beans grow in tins I tread softly through the fragile graveyard I dug in the December snow hoping to resurrect That which came first – the great good-god chickens But such potent necromancy is so hard And my enemies will not now be pecked By poultry raised from Hell For I wasted the precious shell Broke my yolks Falling for cruel jokes Scrambled ideas mean no one gets Turned into human omelettes I settle for bacon, digging a great big Grave for the meat rind seeds For I now have great needs Of a home grown zombie pig. LOL, zombie pig! Well done, and loved it. I love how this challenge is still rolling. I got asked for another one, so will do that in a few days or so.

@Jessicalynnt that would be great - too many at once might be too much for everyone so once a week seems a good pace for such exercises

@arthurchappell I was pondering making it weekly on mondays or something, so there is a pattern to when to start watching for one. not sure yet

A very original approach and I like the concept. Of course nobody would say that you were mad, except for me that is.

@arthurchappell Oh yes, I forgot about the rest of the world, but nobody apart from those would consider you to be mad.

I like your poem though, seems like very deep, need to at least a day spend with it and so that I can write a comment. My english is not very good. Read with having oxford dictionary by my side.

Thanks @rocky1980 it isn't really deep, just rather silly in being about someone trying to grow chickens as if they were flowers

@arthurchappell thanks for breaking the suspense, when I read it first time I felt like I am listening to a Eminem's Song, he is champ at writing very complicated rhyme schemes and uses a very extraordinary lyrics. I have to listen eminem's song at least 2 or 3 times to understand it completely. for me, here in mylot, you are my eminem. Also I have submitted my entry to the challenge. Don't forget to read it. I am waiting for your feedback. It's my first ever poem.

@rocky1980 I have already read it - please don't request reads from your friends here as it is a breach of the rules of the site - don't want to see you get in trouble
