it's beginning to look a lot like christmas!

December 15, 2015 6:52am CST
I popped our Christmas tree up at the weekend. I say popped, because it's sort of true. It's a nice easy tree to put up and to put away again. No huffing and puffing involved. No sweaty armpits. No stomping around in frustration when that bit won't go in this bit. The tree is full of ornaments collected over however many years I've been living here. Many of them tend to be fluffy pink, very girly ones. There's a couple of Dutch baubles from our honeymoon and lots of quirky European ones, mostly from France. I'm enjoying my living room at the moment. I like a little change around. It's just a tad disappointing that our cats are the only cats in the world who don't climb trees, wanting to be the fairy-angelic star on the top. Ah, back to the daily grind of work. IT this afternoon. Huzzah.

We've got a 7 foot tree up in the loft which takes forever to set up and decorate. As the kids are both at university and won't be back home until a few days before christmas we just bought a small fibre optic tree and stuck a few decorations on. 5 minute job. 5 minutes wasted if you ask me. Bah humbug!!!

I imagine you'd be singing a different tune if the cats WERE in fact the meddlesome type. It's a very pretty tree.

Thank you. And yes, I suspect I'd be on here grumbling about the cats and wishing they were all bah humbug-ish!

@Poppylicious I'm not talented in it, but you could photoshop one of your cats to to the top of the tree!

It's actually kind of nice to move things around and squeeze a tree into already crowded spaces. It's a cheery thing with the twinkling lights and all the colors. I don't take the tree down until that feeling passes and I begin to hate the sight of it. Sometimes that isn't for weeks after Christmas.

Oh, I get bored with mine very quickly and tend to take it down before the new year. I may leave it up a bit longer this year, perhaps to the first of January. :)

Such a lovely tree and one that looks rather different, maybe it is the blue lights and the abundance of ornaments. Once the tree is lit up every evening is like Christmas Day.

It is ... dark nights and tree lights are quite soothing as well, after a tension filled work day.

Hello @Poppylicious , that's a large tree from my end here. well, Im glad cats aren't climbing there, i can't imagine that fallin. our tree is small we had to use a table to make it look tall and probably allow easier presents to put and take from it.

The tree is cute, I suppose that the Angels are from France. I have put up a very little tree this year, there are no children, no need to have a big tree.

@Poppylicious I have given our big tree to my niece, now we have a small one that is very nice and it's enough to put us in the right Christmas mood.

We have no children. We'll probably have no visitors as well. I do it all for me! Husband would gladly have none. :)

I am looking for something more easy. I currently have a nice large fiber optic tree, but it is still annoying to put up. I want to go digital now. Like a 3d hologram or projected image of an awesome tree. That is where it should be now.

I think I may have a pop up tree in the attic. If I don't then no tree this year. I just don't feel like it.
