Whilst I was doing my research, I came across a list of "digital marketing" opportunities, which at a closer look appears to be obvious scams. I know that some of the myLotters are always on the look out for fresh earning opportunities. So I would like to share my list of Top 5 scams with you all. #5: Exciting, fresh, marketing opportunity on social media management for big companies. No experience needed. Contact us NOW! - This is an obvious one, just ask yourself one question, why would a reputable company hire people with no experience to do their social media management? This is a key component of their marketing strategy. Genuine roles of this nature all have very rigious selection criteria. #4 JOIN our army of marketeers and send out pre-written emails to a list of contacts we have in our database. You will be paid if they open the email and click on the link. Sounds too good to be true? Sure it is too good to be true! Now if they already have the email list and the content, why do they need another person to click the send button? It's because you will need to pay set up cost to this, and in some cases, you will be sending out viruses! #3: Telemarketeer needed for busy distribution company. Get paid $$$$ resending on packages delivered to you to another address! Welcome to the mule's club! #2: User experience marketeer needed to test a new PayPal app! Install the app, deposit $1 USD, we'll pay you $40. Why would PayPal ask a bogus company to do this? Answer is simple, you install APP, it will steal all your information such as passwords and account details. It will worth more than the $40. #1 MAKE $$$ with Your BLOG! This is a very very good one, a dream that most bloggers have. Whilst there are some genuine opportunities out there in Affiliate Marketing, there are also some of the biggest scams! One popular one, is we'll give you some promotional discount codes to give to folks who buy from you. Those codes turn out to be stolen. Once the company catches up and deactivate those codes, your customer comes back to you mad. Your contact magically vanishes with your set up fee. Moral of the story, don't trust bogus affiliate companies, always check their legitimacy. Something smells off, just tell them to push off! So ya! These scams really spoil the industry for the rest of us! Have you come across such scams? Or think you might just seen one, please share with us!

There are many and I mean too many sites online that claim to make you rich. That is totally impossible. As we all should know. A legit site will be run like MyLot is. One that will pay but not make you rich. I am sure at some point the the road working online will become a normal thing. But for those that want that dream now, forget it. Enjoy what is out there now. And lets face it, is there any other site as legit as MyLot? Maybe just a few. Nothing more. Blogging is not an easy thing. One needs major exposure. and if you don't have content that others want, forget it.

I always think if it is too good to be true than it isn't true.

@inertia4 When a site says You can make one hundred dollars a day you know that is a scam right off the start and if they ask for money you will never see your money again.

Scams are quite prevalent these days. Some of the scams are quite cleverly dressed up too.

Nope I haven't fallen for any of those but know they are out there and have even had some go into my spam filter email. If I think something might be of interest to me I will check it out and see if it is legitimate or not.

@Drosophila Very true and because of all the scam sites it is difficult to find them so I wait until a friend lets me know of a good site.

Great tips. It's so sad to say that a lot of companies are out there waiting to take the money. We have to stay on alert.

Some of the scams are pretty clever, and you don't necessarily know it's cam until suddenly you're handing over your account details.

The best pitch is "you need to spend money" to "make money", see that, run a mile.

I think there are people who are successful in online in different wayway. For example one site they seems cheat Evryone but does pay me, cuz when i check out, i wrote them a letter of getting the payment. But its a lesson also

Yep, there's no denial of that. I just wish scammers would stop sullying the reputation of an otherwise good industry.

Till the time we don't spend from our pocket, its not an issue even we give a try, but we should be very careful while paying any upfront online

Yep, the rule of thumb never pay upfront, and try to stay away from illegal activities such as "muling". xD
