What happened to Bubblews and why is myLot sustainable?

I'm pretty much questioning as per my subject line. I am not sure this is a sustainable business model. What am I missing? Can myLot really survive?

Bubblews failed because it was managed incredibly badly. It did NOT fail for the reasons they displayed on their 'close down' notice. They began by offering to pay far more than was sustainable, overspent their budget by tens of thousands of dollars and, by the time they "corrected" this, they were already heavily in debt and the only viable option was to cut their losses and close the site. MyLot has a sustainable business model because the earnings program is constantly being adjusted to take into account REAL income. You will nowhere find it stated how much a post is 'worth' (and, in fact, it is not possible to do so because the earnings for a post are dependent entirely on how 'popular' it is and how much interaction it receives.)

This is a question. Why is it that online business models and business models seem to have different approaches? I would think they are the same because they are both a business. Okay, I get the business idea for any business that to make money you need to invest wisely. Sometimes actually borrowing money or finding business partners to help fund your business is an option. But I agree as @owlwings (source of info on tens of thousands?) pointed out sooner or later accounts management must be considered in any business model. revenue in = revenue out + profit Every business is the same in this regard?

@owlwings Further, many folks seem to feel the site had serious honesty and ethical problems.

In terms of finances mylot paid out every single time anyone reached the $10 level and did so for years. Even when they stopped paying they paid out to people who reached that level...unlike many other sites who just shut and took the money with them. I was paid many many times by mylot so i trust them. They may not pay as big as other sites but that's a plus point for many people as it's more sustainable. I believe it's sustainable if we all take a little time to help police the site and keep the cheaters off.

@HanVanMeegerin It's certainly got a good reputation as far as paying is concerned.
