It´s been a hard day.

Today I talked to Leticia as soon as she came about the house cleaning. I did not tell her that it was her fault, but told her that we must hurry up in having everything clean.
She wasn´t mad nor did she say anything. She knew it was her fault but noone mentioned it.
What I said was that we would both have to work a lot to clean up. So I told her that I would make lunch and would try to sort some papers.The second floor would be hers.
I cooked, cleaned up and threw away old papers while she changed beds and washed to loads of clothes.
Then, after lunch, she went upstairs while I had a nap.
After my nap I fixed us a yummy coffee with heated bread with melted cheese on top.
Noone got mad and I know that things will go fine for a while at home.
Tomorrow we have to go to a small Farmer´s Market nearby to buy some veggies as I will have my youngest daughter and her family here for a barbecue. So I guess tomorrow there will be a lot of work too.
Do you have more work just before Christmas?

So all your concerns and fears of causing offence were totally unfounded after all. Of course this is not unusual because we often get concerned over seemingly insignificant issues, which appear to get worse the more we think about them.

@marguicha As you previously quoted she was no doubt fully aware that it was her own fault. She is likely relieved and grateful that you were so civil about the matter.

She took it very well and I worded it fine (after all, I had all weekend to think about what to say). And she worked to hard that I pitied her, but said nothing except offering her coffee breaks once in a while.

I really admire that you have done that in such an amazing way. I would not have thought of that. It's really good to say that, so she doesn't have hard feeling about it, and she knows about it as well. And, you also had a nice tea time with her. 
As we do not really celebrate Christmas, so I don't have more work because of Christmas, but as I am planning for year 2016, so I will be quite busy these few days.

When things happpen, we all have a bit of fault. I live in the house, I am the employer and I should have checked that everything was clean before this incident.

@jaboUK She has done for me and mine along years more than what I could ever do for her. Still, I know I must be specially tactful because in other people´s eyes, we are not equal.

Oh, there is always something left to do before Christmas. I hope that my grandson will help my daughter out and not be a slug. Happy Holidays.
