Christmas Present

That present is the German shorthair, he's had for the past eight years. In August, Jon was about to leave on a trip when his dog took off. Knowing that he couldn't track him down, he left a generous supply of food and water out for the dog in his kennel, figuring that his dog would return. However that did not happen. The German Shorthair in the meantime had found another home about 1 and 1/2 miles away but after a while their other dogs and this one did not get along very well so they decided to call The Animal Rescue and sent along a picture of the dog and they put it on their website. Jon saw the picture and knew it was his dog so he called and said Hey that's my dog, the other party said well then come and get him. He saw his dog and what a happy reunion for both of them. Jon said, 'This is the best Christmas present I could ask for... Picture courtesy of Pinterest

That is a great ending to a rather tragic story. Glad he found his dog. What a joy!

That is so wonderful. I put an electronic tag on all of my dogs so if I lose one of them I can easily find them and bring them back home. I worry so much about my dogs and one of them getting out and being lost or taken. I'm so happy that he found his dog and has been able to bring him home.

@Marcyaz What a wonderful Christmas present for you and your family. I'm sure the dog is so happy to be back home. Dogs never forget their owners and are loyal to them till the end.

I thought this story would be appropriate for this time of year as he would have been devasted if he hadn't found his dog. @TiarasOceanView The best kind of Christmas present for sure.

Nice story. I love the ending. It could have gone bad for the dog.
