The weather is disgusting out

I was halfway through my shift tonight at work, and heard this noise. I looked out the window and it had snowed but also freezing rain. It was so bad, but when I left just before 9:30 the snow had come down more but the town had not plowed it. I drive a tiny car, and well not the best tires.
People were speeding by, flashing lights, and driving like idiots. Well if I went over 40 km I would start sliding so I am curious how they could be doing 80 km without crapping their pants.
I made it home, and wasn't overly timing wise bad.

They have good tires and 4 wheel traction. But they are still crazy. Your weather will be coming our way very shortly. it's going to be bad!

Exactly! They figure since they have 4x4 and a big vehicle it will help them. But when ice is around it wont help.

I actually saw a few of these people in the trucks in the ditch down the road. It's still freezing rain here now. It was like that all night, then stopped for a little. It's now a mushy snow with freezing rain ontop.

@kevin1877uk I have the next 2 days off work now so I will be relaxing for that. I was thinking maybe it may be my shoes. They are fairly new but it they wore wrong or something. I was reading that online so I may when the weather gets nice today, or tomorrow go buy new shoes.

At least you made it home okay. People are idiots around here. They all drive SUVs and trucks and think they can make it through. There had been several stories on the news about a truck or a SUV that didn't make it.

We get that here as well. Last night I saw a couple trucks flashing their lights at me then plow by me only to see them in the ditch down the road.

Thank you. It can be very scary sometimes. But the fact they just fly by, and they expected me to pull over because I was in the way.

Exactly, whether they have good tires or not. I would not be driving that fast regardless. I found all the smaller cars were driving slow , but the SUV and trucks were flying by. I saw a few of them in the ditches down the road.
