This is how 2016 could change your life.

New year is here and most of us are already in the "This year I'm gonna...." mood but how to prevent ourselves from falling into the same old pattern of planing and disappointment? Well I had a question for all of us which if kept in mind would really improve our choices in the coming year. So here it is: What if 2016 was the last year of your life? No, I mean seriously! On an average 56 million people die every year and some year you'll be one of them, so are you ready? Thinking of death makes us reconsider our priorities, it orients us to the things that really matter. If this was the last year of your life would you still continue to life the same way? Our time on earth is limited and more importantly decreasing, being aware of this fact makes it less likely for us to waste our precious lives into things that do not add value to our soul. So remember this for 2016 and all the years to follow, that life is short and it may end any moment which is why it is so important to live fully and do all that matters to you. Smiles :)

This is a very dangerous question. If you think that 2016 is the last year of your life, you will start to splurge, and end up spending more than you earn.

@scheng1 hahaha, yea i had such stuff over my mind, what if you spend more and still manage to survive? Now you have a new year which may as well be your last and a whole lot of debt to settle. But all of us know the question is more about the choices we make and less about the money we'll be spending. If one is trying to outrageously spend all that the money he holds, he must find an better excuse in comparison to the above question.

Welcome to myLot! I live each day as if it were my last and so leave nothing important to tomorrow that may never come in this world.

Most people will go on in the same way. It isn't eays to change old patterns even if you want to do so.

@MALUSE true that, changing habits is a task only a few manage to fulfill but in some cases all one needs is a gentle reminder so I just did my humble part :)

We should pause and ponder as to the direction we take in our lives often. We should change them if we feel the need to. For me no new year resolutions but quiet contemplation often to reevaluate what I am doing and for course correction if needed - siva
