Once a Week Maybe

It felt good coming back to say hello on New Years Eve, but I have to be honest and say I haven't missed being here as much as I thought I might. You see, I've been far too busy to think about it much. But now, having said hello again, and having established a good routine for my research and writing, I think it might be nice to drop by here every now and then. Previously I was spending far too much time here and this was affecting other parts of my life. I needed to walk away completely. Hopefully I can now enjoy all your company again in moderation. I'll try it for a while and see what happens.

Stick to your routine and fit myLot in a little as you are thinking!. Maybe I will have to completely leave before I can learn to limit myself.

In my case drastic measures were definitely called for, and seem to have worked for me.

We need to find a routine and stick to it so we are not on here that much.@paigea

That sounds like a sensible plan Val, we'd certainly like to see you here, even if it's only once a week.

@jaboUK I'm not usually known for sensible plans, but this time it is a necessity.

I would be pleased to see you here once a week Val, just to keep in touch. I have also to spend less time at my computer. There is a real life waiting for us outside the virtual world.

@LadyDuck that sounds wonderful Anna. I hope you let us all know how it is progressing. Recipe books are so time consuming to produce, with all the photo shots of the food and such.

@LadyDuck when I started my writing project I never realised how time consuming it would be. Just as well I love the work.

@valmnz I am also collecting all my recipes to write a book. I see how time consuming this can be.

@valmnz good to see you still hanging about here Val. I probably spend too much time here as well. Self discipline is a great thing if you have it!

And as I don't always have a lot I knew I had to walk away. I will stick around on an occasional basis - so keep watching :-)

When I added up the hours in a day I was horrified at how much time was here when other things needed to be done.

I would never let being here interfere with other priorities - that I'm here so much shows how few such priorities I have at present

'Est modus in rebus' as the Romans used to say. "There is a proper measure in things, i.e., the golden mean should always be observed."

There's also a danger in being too focused on what I'm trying to achieve.

@just4him I've discovered this work takes a lot longer than fiction writing, so I need to find faster ways to work

It is nice that you are striking a balance. You real life is more important but it is nice to maintain a presence with your friends from around the world. Nice to see you and Happy New Year Val.
