Afternoon with mom

When I saw mom on Christmas she mentioned that my hair was looking really bad. I kindly thanked her for pointing out my flaws. Of course she meant no harm by the comment. But my moms opinion is that your hair is the easiest thing to take care of. I agree, but when you are broke it is really hard to squeeze in a hair cut. So she said she was going to get me a hair cut for Christmas. So she made an appointment with her lady for the both of us today. I got to spend the afternoon with my mom getting our hair cut and she even treated me to coffee at my favorite coffee shop. So now my hair is pretty again and my mom can stop complaining. I hope everyone is having or had a wonderful day.

that's awseme. I am trying to teach my best friend how to do my hair to save money. I went to cosmetology school so I am trying to teach her what I know...hehe. I already taught her how to do my eyebrows

I don't get to spend much time with my mom. I don't know why, she lives in the same town...hehe. But yeah, I scored today with the free coffee too!!

Our parents are able to hit us where it hurts, without meaning to. I think it is because we love them so everything has more "feeling" to it. I am glad you could get past that and enjoy the hair cut and coffee.

oh after 35 years, I have gotten used to the way my mom is. it took awhile and a lot of tears, but I managed and now I just take her with a grain of salt.

You took the comment so nicely. I am not one who allows folks to mess with my hair. My Mom made similar comments to me and I said my hair was fine the way it was. I'm glad you had a sweet day with your Mom.

Sounds like a nice outing with your mom.

I too got my hair cut, as you read already hehe. I hope to have a mom date with my mom end of this month when we go shopping.

I don't get too many outings with my mom so they are all special when I do get them. Hair cuts always make me feel pretty, hehehe. I hope you have fun with your outing and share your story as well

That is nice to be able to spend time with your time, and be able to take care of yourself at the same time. And you are right, I do not think your mom means any harm in making the comment - if ever, I think mothers are the ones who will tell us the real deal whether it is something that we like to hear or not.

I hate when my mom points out the obvious too but getting a free haircut is worth it. Glad you are happy with your new haircut and won't have to listen to your mom until you're due for another one

That's always the problem with my mom and I, we never have time. And I wasn't able to pay for my hair cut either, that's why it started to look bad. hehehe
