Off to eat a Giraffe

OK, that's a lie. I'm off to eat at a Giraffe - not to eat a giraffe. I don't eat meat so that wouldn't be for me, although I would imagine they are quite tasty.
Giraffe is a restaurant chain. I've only eaten in one before but a new branch has opened up near work and I'm off to meet my friend for dinner. Having lost a very dear friend to illness just after Christmas, I'm fired up to be a more active and better friend to the lovely ones I still have.
Unfortunately she needs to rush home for a 7.30 meeting with a client (she's a psychotherapist) so I need to leave now and grab an early dinner. I'll be back later to tell you whether a Giraffe meal is worth the bother.

This jiraffe restaurant sounds interesting. Hope this next year is better for you as far as losing friends go.

It is beyond me why they named their restaurant chain Giraffe.

"World food" is how they would probably describe it. Everything from burgers to Middle Eastern, Far Eastern, etc.

I love Giraffe. They do a gorgeous cocktail with Elderflower. It's been a while since I went to one though. Hope you had a super meal and a lovely, relaxing catch-up.

Thanks - I was driving and I'm 4 days into a dry January so the elderflower cocktail will have to wait. But I was very happy with the food.

I haven't heard of this food chain. I don't think it's got to Australia yet. Maybe you've beaten us by a long neck.

I have been resisting neck jokes - so thank you for opening that discussion.

Must admit until I read your title I'd never even considered anyone eating a Giraffe. lol.
I have noticed that there is a Giraffe restaurant in the nearest city to us (but that's just over 40 miles, so not that close). Let us know if it was any good and more importantly if you'd go back.
Hope you enjoyed catching up with your friend.
