Laptop keyboard missing keys

My laptop keyboard is missing 3 keys and sometimes it makes being on a little tricky or troublesome. I don't have to see them to type but I do have to push down harder to make them work. It is not always easy. I keep meaning to have my keyboard replaced but I always talk myself out of it, since I do not know how to work on laptops myself, and the repair place quoted me at 100 and I do not know how much longer my old laptop will hold out. My little man shut it too roughly several months maybe even a year a go and off they came I am missing the y, p, and h. Would you get it fixed or would you just buy a new laptop, or maybe be like me just keep on using it anyway since you don't really need them.

That would frustrate me. haha. I have two missing keys on my keyboard, but they are keys I don't use often, they are the f6 and f7 keys. That happened when my puppy decided to run across my lap while my laptop was on my lap. If your laptop is old I wouldn't replace the keys. I would just hold out until you are ready to buy a new laptop.

Yes it is kind of frustrating at times. It makes it easier having the keys memorized but at the same time the ones missing keys do stick a lot. Waiting seems to be the most logical thing to do, which is why I think I put it off this long.

Do you have a keyboard from a desktop computer available to you? If you do, then you can take that keyboard and plug it into your laptop and use that. Then, you don't have to worry about replacing the laptop or struggling to type without the proper keys.

Is there a way to fix the keys that came off.

Well guess you'll just have to make sure you only type words without the Y,P and H, lmbo. Seriously though If they quoted $100.00 and your laptop is older, I would just put the difference on and buy a new one. They aren't that expensive anymore. I paid $249.00 for mine a couple years ago and it's an HP

That is what I think I'm going to do. I think I will wait until this old one gives up the ghost first though. :)
