Take A Walk Outdoor Day

Today, January 20th, is the celebration of "Take A Walk Outdoor Day". Are they kidding us? Who in his or her right mind is going to go for a walk today in this frigid morning? Certainly not me, I can tell you that much! My walk will be done soon, but indoor and without leaving my warm house. I have all the space needed to walk right here, so why would I go out today and freeze myself? Unless you live right now in a warm country or state, do you?

It's sleeting, now it turned to snow, this is an inside day for sure - let's declare it 'eat chocolate day' instead.

I think that the whole month of January should be declared "Eat Chocolate Month"

I went out yesterday day and I am counting that as today for the walk. It is way to cold. I am staying in all day

I have not taken a walk outdoor today, the roads are covered with ice, it's too cold and too dangerous.

@ivyparkgirl We are not as lucky as Baton Rouge, it's cold out here.

@ivyparkgirl Not all the countries are warm like the south of the United States. Marlina lives in Canada, it's not a warm country, as it is not Switzerland.

They are nutz that's for sure. Wild horses couldn't drag me out today. I love @AbbyGreenhill suggestion though, lol. Sounds good to me.

I used to walk with friends before school at 5:30 AM. For some reason, it seemed still outside, and I was warm from just rolling out of bed. Of course, the fact that I bundled up and wore glove liners under my thick mittens helped. I don't believe I will ever do it again, so I don't blame you. There are all kinds of exercises you can do in the warmth of your house.

It was in the low seventies and sunny where I live yesterday. I spent as much time as possible outside, as it has been too cold for me to do so recently. I love those little gifts of nice weather and drop everything to enjoy them when they show up.

@marlina There are stretches of time when we have perfection days or weeks in a row. Some people think this might be boring, but it never is to me. It is glorious.

I like a short brisk walk on a cold day if I'm bundled up well, but today is much too cold as its only -7 here.

I have the opposite problem here in the New Zealand summer. Unless I go for my walk early morning or later at night, it's just too hot at the moment.

It is cold here, but not snow and I am one of the people who took a walk today, in the cold. I take a walk every day, even in the rain with an umbrella, it is so good for my arthritis.

@marlina brave or crazy...lol if i don't get out , I won't walk in the house, except to the fridge. If i sit too long my knees just seem to lock.. I was in an accident a few years back, where my knees hit the dash board they were swollen for along time and never healed right

warmish despite being winter, but that's normal for here. And that is a crazy time in Canada for encouragements of that nature!

This idea must come from Australia or thereabouts where they are in the middle of summer! I went shoppping today on foot and am glad that I returned home without slipping on icy patches and breaking a bone or two.

No. I'm with you. Though the temps are in the teens today. It feels even balmy out there I did my five minutes on the treadmill and I think next week I can bump up the time. I wasn't as out of breath as I normally am.

@ivyparkgirl It was sad they lost, but that Hail Mary Aaron Rodgers threw again made the game worth watching. I also didn't fully expect them to win, not after the huge loss we had against them a few weeks ago. I'm happy the game was a lot closer and went into overtime. It was a very good game. So I'm sad they lost, but I'm also not sad. I hope that last made sense.

Yes, I do and it's actually a good day to take a walk outside as temperature is only at high 30C compared to last week when it really felt like summer with nearly 40C...

Regardless what they say, I will not be walking outside today. It is sunny, but very cold and damp.
