thinking about traveling to morocco on my own

I love to travel. I love discovering new exotic places. I went to egipt and this has been the best vacation so far. I plan on going to morocco. obviously the trip is pretty expensive and this is the reason why not so many people would engage into going with me. but I'm seriously considering going alone. I mean going in an organised group but on my own. would that be wrong?

I can't see any problem with that. I'd happily go on my own without a tour group.

doesn't that seem a little bit risky?

@swissheart I've been many times and I know how the place works. But for a first visit, it's better to be with others. What risk are you worried about?

@boiboing did you go for work or pleasure? I've heard men can be pretty aggressive when it comes to women tourists. plus I read it's also recommended that you don't go out on the streets after 11 pm. plus I'm also scared a little of the idea of being on my own

That should be great and you would probably make friends with others in the group.

@swissheart I've been there and you wouldn't want to explore on your own, but with a group you will be fine.

i think that if you travel to morocco on your own you should always have other people around. from what i heard morocco is a very crowded place for someone to be alone there. when you dont know the place. and is even more complicated because you are a girl. and is dangerous for us girls to travel on our own.

No, I don't think it's wrong. What have made you wondering that it's wrong to travel alone - is it something about the destination?

it has to do with the destination but most of my friends told me I'm crazy

I always wanted to go travelling on my own abroad, but I would also fear for my own safety. I think you should go for it as long as you stay with an organised group.

I don't understand the question. Why should that be wrong? In what sense?

@swissheart I went all over North America and Europe entirely on my own when I was in my 20s. I also took holidays in Africa, India and Sri Lanka as a single woman travelling as part of a group. There's nothing crazy about doing this.

@boiboing I admire you. I'm still having doubts but I think tomorrow I'm going to call the agency to discuss some details
