Life in Peru

I am a half Peruvian who just started to live here in Peru for about 4 years now and still, there are a lot of things that I need to know, learn and understand. Communication was a challenge for me as I can not speak Spanish fluently with very limited vocabulary in Spanish and people here either have 50% knowledge in English or zero in English. I rarely go out to meet people, aside from being busy with work. I find it difficult to express myself when I'm around with someone. I work as an English Teacher here in Peru, I started working in different language centers which made my life busy most of the time since I was planning to buy a house here. I teach different students in different ages, from teenagers to adult profesionals. There was this one time when I even started to work as a private teacher for a heart surgeon, he was very busy that our classroom was in the operating room. Yes, operating room. That I almost fainted after seeing someone's veins and blood (turns out veins don't look that small) But my job calls for it and I just go there, all I think was money and house. Some of the people think my life is boring, I guess it is. I have a dream and that is to have my own house for my mom, my sister and I. I just want to make it happen, they tell me I am too young to think about it (I was 23) and house should not be my priority. Is it fun to live in Peru? Yes, it is. The idea of knowing new things can be exciting and confusing all at the same time. It was challenging and fun at the same time. Do I miss my country? I am half Filipino, born and raise in Philippines by my Peruvian mom (my dad who is a filipino was not around most of the time). To be honest, I never thought that I would miss Philippines that much. Would you want to go back to Philippines? Yes, just to visit. These are just few of the questions that I usually get from my students. I still feel that I have a long way to go, I am still learning and adjusting. Can't wait to tell you more of my journey.
