Goals/Resolutions

I used to do a 'goals' post on Bubblews where I listed my goals for that month and then at the end of the month, how well (or sometimes not) that I had managed. I didn't really make any New Year's resolutions but I did want to lose weight and to get fitter. While I'm certainly not as fit as I should be, I have managed to lose some weight and things are certainly going in the right direction. I just need to keep up the good work and not let bad days get to me like I ahve in the past. Anyone else have any goals or resolutions and how are you getting on with them?

I agree that it's important not to let bad days feel like a set back. Just a day off and then carry on! Good luck to you. Someone started a walking group on myLot at the beginning of the month. I was going to find that post and add my days walking. Then we can all encourage each other.

I just need to get more into the routine of exercise again as I know it does make me feel better.

@euphie Yes, I know it makes me feel better but today I talked myself out of going for a skate!

@euphie I read an interesting book that said ultimately exercise does very little for longterm weightloss and the answer is the food that we put in our mouths. I like food :)

I usually set about 10 goals for the year that I'd like to accomplish, but due to how busy I've been so far at the start of this year, I haven't had the time to sit down yet and make this year's goals. I hope to get to them soon. They will really just be a continuation of last year's goals, since the goals I set in 2015 were more long-term goals than one-year goals.

@euphie It would actually be sensible for me to get off my lazy butt and actually sit down and write 2016's goals! But I have a busy and fun weekend planned, so all that is going to have to wait until another time! haha

That's probably a more sensible approach to goals

Take it one day at a time. I didn't make any resolutions this year and my current goals are to finish writing the last book in a series and get a book of short stories edited and published.

Yeah, I'm working one day at a time but also trying to look towards the future as well if that makes sense.

I have great intentions but always fail within weeks. I am determined though that I will lose some weight by the summer

I have stopped making resolutions years ago when I realized that it was just putting pressure on me. I like the "relaxed" living much better.

I think that's a good way to be - I like to hope I'll make changes but rarely do I seem to have the motivation to make the real changes

Well done on the weightloss. I used to do a similar assessment of my goals and life etc, monthly, until the barnacle arrived 14 months ago. I need to lose weight, although I still weigh less than when he was conceived :)

I have got to the point where I no longer do daily posts. Maybe I should, again.
