Well, the cubboard is almost empty
and the table is all but bare
got no money in his pocket

with rainbows in his eyes
he's just a rainbow chaser
a dreamer in disquise
he may look like a begger
but, he's rich in his own eyes

well, once he met a sweetheart
the likes you've never seen
she said she truly loved him
but, she couldn't live on dreams
so, she left him like she found him
still searching for his pot of gold
but, he looks forward for tomorrow,
with rainbows that shines of gold
