I hate depending on people...

and try not to at all cost. My grand daughter was coming over this morning to stay here all day and help my daughter do some things around here to be ready for the inspection on Tuesday. She wasn't able to because the new baby was sick most of the night and her boyfriend just got up and left for work and she was asleep. So she said she will be over tomorrow to help my daughter. My daughter puts things off until the last minute which drives me nuts and I enlisted my granddaughter to help her. My daughter just had a five minute heaving session in the bathroom. This happens when she is stressed out. I wish we could live somewhere else that didn't have these inspections. I depend on my daughter to do 90% of it because I am just not able. PLUS, they are doing a financial thing and will be having some more inspections from time to time. Hopefully not showing our apartment. They come to see what the actual dimensions of the apartments are for their calculations. Ugh! Very stressful and we hate it.

I have clients that have inspections of their apartments at least once or twice a year. I do what I can to help them keep their place clean whenever I am assigned to them. One gets so stressed out that she stays up all night cleaning for the next days inspection.

That is rather the issue here. Stress and anxiety that comes with it. I stress because she waits to the last minute. I have ask my grand daughter to come help so we can get it done and over and I don't have to stress over it anymore.

I wish we could afford a place so we didn't have to be on Section 8. But we are both disabled and on SSD so we don't make enough money.

I know the inspections are only once a year right Celt? And why would they be showing your apartment, sorry maybe I didnt understand? I am so sorry your daughter is so stressed. I am sure everything will be fine, but I know she will be stressed anyway. I also am sorry you are not able.

Usually only once a year. But this year it is different due to what I stated. They are re-financing the places and are having inspections so they can see measurements and so forth. We don't know if they will come here. Haven't yet, but could.

I have never heard of inspections in a dwelling of any kind. Why, if you don't mind me asking?

We live in Section 8 apartments. They pay a certain amount of our rent. They do annual inspections to be sure that all appliances and such are in working order. It's basically a lot of hell and inconvenience to have money off on our rent. I stress over it every year. This year they are refinancing and so they have notified us that there may be people coming in to look at the apartments from time to time. Not sure when or how long this go on. So double the stressor.

@DianneN ....I wish it were that easy. You don't know how many people have told me that very same thing. It is like I am allergic to stress. Very sensitive to it. I am just like my mom. She was the same way.

@celticeagle A friend of mine owns many Section 8 buildings. There is no reason to stress out over anything. Let them in for a look and slam the door when they leave. Stress is so bad for your health. Save it for something important.

Well I hope everything turns out ok and it can be done in time for the inspection. Glad I have my own home and don't have to worry about people coming to inspect etc.

I hope everything works out in the end. It is stressing to know people will be inspecting your apartment. And I try not to depend on people anymore because sometimes, they will back out and all the time I spent waiting ~ I could have done it myself without their help.

That's why I'd hate to have to rent a place - it must be horrible for anyone to have the right to come into your home. good luck with the inspection.

@jaboUK ....Yep. They have a pass key. I think that most places do. Incase there is a leak or emergency of some kind.
