I remember in the early days making Valentine Cards. This was in the fourth or fifth grade. The photo is what Mike made for me in the early seventies. Remember the lace paper that were cut out and do just about everything. I love to challenge some of our reader here if they ever made home made Valentine Cards. For me I love to see them.

Handmade ones are really appreciated because of the time and effort put into them. Love your idea in your photo too.

I remember when I was in Primary school we each had a valentine box that we would save things in, bits of ribbon, lace, gold paper, etc. Every day the teacher would give us time to work on making our valentines. Only the "rich" kids had store-bought valentines.

I made many, but they are long gone. That is so sweet that you saved it all these years. It is lovely!

I remember making them in school. I think it was the goal of every teacher I had in grade school to make Valentines for our mothers.

I do enjoy making things. I did make a card for my other half. Unfortunately, I left it at work! I was making cards with the kids in the nursery where I'm currently working. I'd made one myself and I must have put it down and forgot to pick it up again! I am hoping that I'll have more time to make things next year, and I might spend some time making cards and gifts.

I remember making Valentine cards a long time ago, the year we spent in the US. In my country, ValentineĀ“s Day is an imported holiday, just as Halloween.

I tried to make before and not really sure if it was worth sharing, not really the artsy type of person but I tried anyways. And even if the DIY card was not perfect, it's always the thought that counts and the words written on the card that makes it extra special.

I do not have any of the cards I made or any that my kids made anymore. But the best card I got was from my oldest grandson when he had learned to print. He made a valentine card that took him all day and it said I love you grand mom. that was so sweet.

That is a beautiful card. Sometimes home made stuff is far superior than commercially bought stuff as it has been made with love!

I would keep everything my daughter's made. However, we lost a lot of material things when we left our home years ago from domestic violence. The most important thing to me was getting us out safe and I did that. It's just stuff.. the memories we carried in our hearts. So, that's good enough for me. Your posted reminded me of all those little treasures. I cherished each one.

I do remember making similar Valentine's Day cards in grammar school for my parents. The basic staples included red construction paper and white doilies. I happen to have some of those unused doilies stored away in a cupboard.
