Second Job Didn't Pan Out

United States
February 11, 2016 7:35pm CST
Got a message from my cousin today. The job I was going to do part-time is not happening. The lady decided she doesn't need anyone to do her shopping. Although I am a little disappointed not to be able to have the much needed income, I am delighted that I can relax and enjoy my day off. I will be spending the day with my daughter. Grocery shopping and maybe a thrift shop is on the agenda.

If I don't, it's all good. Everything happens for a reason.

It's good that you're not too disappointed about it. Maybe something else will turn up soon.

@JudyEv Yes, we are following one another. He wished me luck as well. I know that I haven't had much luck with sales this year locally, so hoping that if I branch out I'll have more success.

If something else doesn't come along, I will start knitting hats again. My daughter started an Etsy account and will be selling my items there.

@ScribbledAdNauseum we had one that went belly up about a year ago. There are a lot of people who do this kind of work in our town. Guess it was not meant to be at this time.

@ricki_911 We all need at least a day to collect ourselves.

@ElusiveButterfly I can understand that! I know even though I need the money I don't know if I could give my 1 day off.

My daughter had to cancel because my granddaughter has the croup. I did enjoy my day though.

@DWDavis me too. This is the first time she has been sick. I don't like to see her down for the count.

Quite a combination of regret and relief. I have had times like that. You probably need some free time.

I do need that one day to breathe. Fridays are my only day off.

The lady probably did not want to spend the money.

You are probably right. I believe she was the one that was asking about hiring someone.

The grocery shopping is a great thing and the thrift store is also a big best thing.

Hope that you enjoyed your day off. I spent the day with five of my grandchildren. they were here for breakfast, lunch and then a birthday supper for the second youngest. Now I am enjoying the quiet and trying to catch up here on Mylot.

Yes, but the lady decided that she didn't want to have it done for her.
