Leche Flan, My All-Time Favorite Dessert, What's yours?

This morning, I cooked Leche Flan, my all time favorite dessert. I need a lot of self-control to avoid over-eating because this dessert tastes so divine. Do you know Leche Flan? This dessert is a steamed mixture of evaporated and condensed milk plus eggs, sugar and vanilla. The caramelized sugar top of this creamy custard enhances the sweet flavor even more. This dessert is not an original Filipino recipe. We actually learned it from the Spanish who once colonized our country. What is your all-time favorite dessert?

I like the Spanish Crema Catalana, that is similar, but it's not my favorite dessert. I like more cakes like the Black Forrest.

I've never had it before but it does sound good. My favorite dessert is cheesecake, followed up by carrot cake.

Leche flan is basically what Europeans call Cream Brulee and what Americans call cream caramel.

My husband and i love leche flan . Whenever , we are only by ourselves at home for a week when the in-laws goes with my brother-in-law where he works , i would cook 3 llanera for our whole week dessert . But i can't perfect the appearance of my leche flan though , but hubby loves it . What's your proportion for your leche flan dear ?

this is my Nanay's melt-in-your-mouth leche flan. If you follow the directions closely, the resulting leche flan will be very fine in texture

@SIMPLYD oh really, that is mas matipid leche flan. i always follow that so it is really quite expensive. Anyway we can always make our own recipe, for as long as it turned out good to our taste

In other countries, leche flan is called cream caramel. If there is a dessert you should try, it should be pumpkin pie. I also love Ube Cake, Purple taro is the best. When it comes to Filipino desserts, I love halo halo. My favorite dessert is the impossible cake. It is basically chocolate in the bottom and lecheflan on top.

@salonga In mexico, they call it,the impossible cake. Basically first you will pour the flan batter, then you will pour the cake batter. When it gets done, The flan will be in the top of the cake. They basically switched places.

I don't know if I have a favorite. Strawberry shortcake comes to mind. So does a hot fudge sundae. Those would be more summer desserts. I don't know about a winter dessert, though anything chocolate is a good choice as long as it doesn't have peanuts or peanut butter in it - allergies.

It sure sounds like a great dessert. I prefer to have dessert outside, since the portion sold is usually small, and there is little risk of over-eating.
