Grocery shopping is good exercise

I like weekends when I can go grocery shopping.
It is a chance for me to get adequate exercise.
I have to walk 10 minutes or 20 minutes for grocery shopping depending on which supermarkets I go.
When I go to the nearest supermarket, I tend to buy 5kg of rice.
I always bring along a haversack so that I can put the rice in the haversack and walk home. 10 minutes of walk with 5kg load is enough to make me sweat.
If I have the energy, I buy some isotonic drinks too.
A carton of 24 cans with 330 ml per can is very heavy too. Isotonic drinks are good when you exercise in hot and humid weather, and you sweat a lot.
There are always things to buy every week.
A few tins of sardines, mushrooms, stewed pork and other canned items add up in term of weight.
Sometimes I will combine grocery shopping with household items.
You cannot imagine how heavy 2 large packs of toilet roll is when you have to carry them 20 minutes.

I agree with you totally. I have to do that later today. Although I know going to the gym is an important way to get a work out, it seems like so many things we do all the time give us a good workout - maybe comparable to the gym. Such as for example cleaning, which is what I did for a few hours yesterday! Enjoy your day.

Grocery shopping, housework, laundry, gardening and yard work are things that wear me out and make me sore and tired. I think it would be nice to make (or have) a bunch of money and hire people to do those things.

I just went grocery shopping with my nephew but we did not walk, I drove. Nevertheless, I walked around pushing our heavy cart and then lifted each box and paper bag yo load in the trunk. So I guess it was an exercise for me too.

I would buy a personal grocery cart. There is no use in carrying all the groceries home when you can push them. In addition, it will save your arms as well. You will need the strength to put up the groceries when you get home to.

In fact there are many methods for us to do some exercises. Such as cleaning and mopping the floor can be a kind of exercise. Everyday I go to work and go home on foot, it is also my daily exercise. Sometimes we don't have to go to the gym if we really want to do exercises and stay healthy.
