Love a Little

Friend's dog sitting on my feet

Close your eyes and remember your first love, first kiss, first crush (ok smarty pants AFTER you read this). Remember how it felt? Remember the feels, all great and small? Those, those are what life is about. Those feels are your soul growing, adding color, adding depth, adding dimension. Our souls need this to continue to evolve. A life without love is a waste of the air one partakes in. Love can come in all shapes and sizes, friend, family, four footed family... it matters not to the soul. Each type of love has it's own value. There is nothing more sad than a love lost, unless it is a love lost to someone's passing. That kind of love...is final, there is no going back, no chance at a rekindling. Still, better to have loved and lost, than never loved at all. Despite the pain I still agree with that. I am a better person for having loved who I loved. I learned, and I grew. And while I may still have an ache that never really heals.... I wouldn't go back and prevent myself from loving. So as you are in love, falling out of love, looking for love, or loving the smaller things, I urge you to reflect a moment on this. And I wish you footwarming love.

I am also grateful for the ones that I have loved. The experiences have made me who I am today.

More often than not, we get caught up with our endeavors that we have forgotten to take a step back and reflect on the grand scheme of things. I'm inspired by your post to do just that today.

@Jessicalynnt I was hinking about that at l nch today as I marveled at my small table mate a petite lady who had arthritis so bad in her hands her fingers are badly gnarled. Yet she has learned how to manage and smile as she does. She once told me of how she fled from Vietnam during the war ears and her adult kids refused to come wth her, but came to the US later on. Such bravery and such a big smile she wears.people here do inspire me at times. both on our mylot and here where I live.

I was so pitifully shy when I was young that I had to enlist friends to help me. And things rarely went well.

Considering it's 6:12 am this is a little deep for me right now. I have love several times in my life but true love only once and it's the last one.

The opening lines of your post mirror some of the promos I've used for my books. My first and fourth books are all about finding your first love.

I also do not my past loves. I have not forgot, my life has changed and I am with my husband from many years, but I do not regret the past.

I regret some of the ways some things ended. Not that they ended, but that I didn't handle them better, you know?

That is a very nicely written post! Without love, we are no better off than a bump on a log.To live is to love, and to love is to live. Thanks for sharing your wisdom on the day of love!

and part of love is pain sadly. if there was no light there would be no shadow, if there was no shadow would there be no light?

I love Tennyson's love quote. Better to have loved and lost. I find love to be a very surprising ingredient in life. It brings out the best and the worst in people.

I think people see love as one feeling, when in reality I believe the greeks (I think it was them anyways) were closer, with love meaning more than one thing, and there being more than one variety of love.

That's why we should not give our whole life to someone so that if we get hurt, there still a little love remaina for ourselves.

I am still so grateful for my hubby even though hes gone now for a long time and my sons love and the love of my friends. I love you all too mylot been such a blessing for me. If I could go back now and change anything I would not as all the downs and ups worked to make me who am now.

oh you are reaching very deep into my soul with that first question/statement. My eyes are shut but i cannot recall, i might have to linger a little longer with them shut. But to be in love or to have loved is a wonderful experience and one should never give up on LOVE and the good things that come with it!
