I was just wondering if you are the kind of person who loves to read in bed before falling asleep? I am one of them and so is my husband. We have been reading together since day one. It is one of our favorite moment of the day. Presently I am reading an excellent biography of President Harry S. Truman. It is a huge book and I am taking my time reading it and enjoying it. What is on your night table right now?

Oh yes, I do that. I've just finished a book and have to decide now what to read next. I read the first chapter of Starter For Ten by David Nicholls on my Kindle but decided not to buy it. I doesn't appeal to me. This 'Look Inside' is a good feature.

Amazon have it right with that "sample chapter" feature! No more tutting from bookshop assistants as you peruse the first few pages of a book in the local book shop/store...

Like you, I tend to read in bed before I go to sleep. I've been doing it since grade 5 or 6. Right now, I'm reading Agatha Christie's Passenger to Frankfurt. It seems a little different from other novels I've read by her, but I'm still enjoying it.

@marlina I haven't read her autobiography yet. I want to at some point. However, I have read the biography written by Laura Thompson. I did enjoy it.

My wife and I sometimes read in bed before going to sleep. She does more often than I do. Right now we are both reading the Nocturne Falls series. These are lighthearted romance stories about supernaturals who inhabit the town of Nocturne Falls.

We consider our bedroom a place for sleeping. We don't have a TV in there, the dog isn't allowed on the bed, no reading(no proper reading lamp). I have a hard enough time sleeping as it is.

@marlina I'm not a bed person - My bed is for sleeping and I have a hard enough time doing it - LOL so the less time in that room before bedtime the better for me.

The bedside table has a couple of books and the Kindle on it - plenty of choice, and the table on t'other side of the bed's much the same.

Yes I love to read if I'm not too tired! Currently reading 'Sailing alone around the world' by Joshua Slocum (recounting his voyage of 1895).

A box of tissues and a lamp. I am not a night reader. My eyes are tired by the time I go to bed. I read during the day.

I used to read before going to bed too. I did a few nights ago. I read some of the bible. But currently I'm reading The Phoenix by: Kylie Chan. It's the second book of a martial arts fantasy book series.

@marlina sometimes. My grandmother used to read books before going to bed too. When she lost some of her eyesight due to diabetes, she started listening to books on tape. But she would fall asleep and have to rewind to get to where she was again.

I used to be one of those people. But my eyes are so weird and I have become such a cable addict I don't read much any more. I have allergies and my eyes film over. Sometimes I really have to work to get them cleared out so I can see.

The only thing I will read that didn't get done during the day, is my bible reading. Otherwise, I will watch Netflix before I fall asleep, and I will admit, that I do fall asleep while watching an episode or two. I always hope that I would stay awake long enough to finish watching an episode, but my eyes close and when I wake up, I realize that it is still gong, so I just stop it, and go to sleep. It happened that way last night. I had fallen aseep watching it, and then when I awoke to shut it off, I just couldn't go back to sleep, so I decided to watch on the nbc app, a show that I always watch and catch up on the episode I missed. After watching it, I went right to sleep, and slept until 6 this morning. I am a little tired, but I will be okay, I hope.

Most of my life I couldn't fall asleep without reading in bed--I haven't done that in awhile. The only thing I do in bed now is sleep--I read at the table or sitting in a chair down at The Point getting sun!
