Have any of you been following the story of a brother who duct taped his two sisters? I heard on the news where he put the photos on Facebook. His sisters are 2 years old and 6 months old and were hogtied in a bed then photos were taken. He is 15 years old. I know that siblings can do some pretty awful things to each other but I think this is way out of line. He is 15 and his sisters are so young that it kind of goes beyond normal sibling behavior to me. He is being charged with child abuse. I really think he needs to go for counseling. I have linked the article below. What do you think?
A 16-year-old boy faces criminal charges after police said he bound his two younger sisters with duct tape.

That is awful, if he were my son, he would find himself in some really deep trouble, especially if the authorities did nothing.

@simone10 At that age, if he had to stay with me, he would never be allowed alone with the younger ones, not even for a second.

@Carmelanirel2 I feel exactly the same way. I would be afraid that he might retaliate against the girls.

I agree. Not only would he not be able to sit down for a month, he would be going through some intense therapy.

He is dangerous and authorities are afraid of what he might do if he returns home.

@TiarasOceanView That was one of my concerns as well. It might have all been innocent on his part but if that is the case, his decision making is not what it should be at his age and he should be evaluated and counseled.

I know! What kind of joke is that? Those girls are so young. It makes you wonder if he has done anything else to them and just never got caught.

I think that is just what little boys do. I remember my brother going through a stage in his young life, where he tied everything and everybody up. It had nothing to do with abuse. I do not know how the law got involved in this, but this is ridicules. I feel for this family. He is just a kid himself, and needs to be home with his family. I mean they even said the boys has never been any trouble before, so give him a break. I do not think he would ever do it again. Just for the record my brother enjoyed rope and duck tape at a young age, and he did not turn out to be a thug. Now, this is my opinion and I understand everyone has one.

What concerns all of us is that the boy is 15 years old and should know better. His sisters are only 2 years old and 6 months old. They could have easily suffocated because their mouths were duct taped. I don't think he should be charged in this case but I do think he needs some serious counseling.

counselling certainly - child abuse may be stretching it though - still pretty weird behaviour

wow that is horrible no I did not know anything about this. He should go to one of those facility's to get help like juvenile jail i think it is. That is just not right and where were the parents ?

I was wondering where the parents were too. I understand that brothers and sisters do things to each other all the time but his sisters were so young and couldn't have done anything to deserve this treatment.

My older boys were always beating up on each other but never harming each other at such young ages. Sounds like he needs a bit of counseling to see if there is something more going on. But a word to say about boys at this age they don't always have their brains or common sense turned on.

I had cousins who were all boys and they used to do things to each other also but nothing like this and they never would have done this to children so young. To each other, yes but not to babies.

He is far too young to go to jail, else it will do him good. Perhaps the younger sisters have driven him mad to the point that he took such drastic action. Actually, the court should punish the parents too.

At 15 years old, he should know better than to do what he did to his sisters. He should be their protector. He needs some serious counseling. Although I do believe it is child abuse, I don't think he should go to jail.

Indeed , i agree with you the 15 year old needs counselling . There's no way that such an act will not be given disciplinary action . They were just babies to be subjected to this act .

I think the commercial for Cuties is probably why he did it, it shows a sister duct taping her little brother to the door.

@BelleStarr I have to agree. I think charging him with child abuse is carrying it a little too far but he should be closely monitored and should go to counseling.
