Weekend Plans Anyone?

February 19, 2016 2:41pm CST
Well, the beloved weekend has arrived. And with it, I'm feeling slightly less than enthusiastic. Although today is a typical Friday (school, yoga, home,) tomorrow I work. Granted, I NEED to work, but I do it so infrequently that when it rolls around, there is a bit of dread. The work isn't until 3:00pm, but it has its whole set of difficulties. The event is at an art museum, which is cool. However, the parking will be limited. Thus, I have to park elsewhere and take a shuttle. I'm not sure how much extra time to allow for that. And since I prefer to be early or on time, I'll probably allow more than enough time which cuts into my day. So yes, I'm being a bit of a complainer. Then, my sunday is ruined by a meeting. I hate meetings. They always take too long. People talk too much. This one is more necessary than the last one we had just two short weeks ago, but I guess I'm a bit annoyed that I had to have 2 Sundays within 2 weeks of each other ruined. The meeting is in the middle of the afternoon which will mean i can't go to my yoga class. The last meeting, I was at least able to stop by the gym, but this one is going to be too long to even allow that. I may try to go before the meeting. We'll see. Plus, the weather is supposed to be gorgeous all weekend. And my weekend is taken with STUFF. I know that's life. And I hate to be a complainer. So forgive me please! And tell me, do you have anything good happening this weekend?

@jillybean1222 , good weather and having to work on a weekend = right to complain :-)! My weekend was hair disaster, stressful news twice, and then a good Sunday. I hope you found some time somewhere to enjoy a bit of your weekend and the weather. :-)

I went out to breakfast this morning. My day and weekend plans are ruined, because I am coming down with my hubby's cold. Drat! And it is beautiful here. I hope you manage to do what you want to do this weekend.

@jillybean1222 Writers club was fun, it got my mind off the perplexing situation I had posted about. Definitely worth checking to see if you have something similar in an area near you. London is a regular enough trip for me. I used to live there. :)

Well, I am not working this weekend and that is good. Anne is part of a Tai Chi demonstration program with her teacher at the Asian Celebration today and Sunday. I will go tomorrow. I am going to a poetry reading done by my 90 year old former prof today. It is sunny, so far, here. I hope the day and the work goes well!

I have no plans for this weekend. I'm myLotting and I might do some housework. I might also work on a manuscript. I only have church on Sunday and I'm looking forward to that.

@jillybean1222 It can be hard to focus on writing if you don't have the passion for it, or even if you do and your mind is elsewhere - like on myLot

My schedule is quite packed in these weekend as well, as compared to my normal days. On Saturday night, we went to a Buddhist temple to take part of the Chinese New Year celebration, we spent 5 hours there, though we were really tired, the children were happy. It's Sunday morning here, and later we'll go for another Chinese New Year celebration very soon, the children will be seeing lion dance there. After that we'll visit my aunt, as a tradition to visit her during Chinese New Year as well. After these two days, I guess the busy period of Chinese New Year will be over, and we'll be back to the normal easy staying-at-home days. Hope your weekend go well and not as bad as you thought. Though I think some meetings are necessary and effective, some are really wasting time.

I took someone's Sunday afternoon shift at work, so that they could attend an important family gathering. The best part of it for me is that its only a half shift and she is working my full shift next Wednesday. I hope that you find some enjoyment in your day when you're not busy with the meeting on Sunday.

Just waking up in the morning is a good happening!! Also being retired every day is a 'weekend'! Trust me--next year you won't even remember the STUFF you had to do this weekend!

Being retired changes weekend planning a bit. We're actually replacing guttering on the front of the house in preparation for painting. But it's not stuff we mind doing really.
