I can't zip up the zipper because of my calves... Boot shopping!!

I have always wanted to own a pair of leather boots where I can put my skinny jeans in them too but my feet is either too wide as boots are generally narrow - or it's my calves! The struggle of buying boots. I tried on a bunch of boots this afternoon at Macy's - but none of them worked out for me. I found one that I sort of liked, but I didn't love it enough to purchase. I ended up purchasing two online and hopefully one of them will work out, or both even! If not, I shall give up on trying to find the perfect pair. And stick with faux fur boots that are easy to slide in/out only.

Were you once a soccer player or something? I have big calves, but I don't wear skinny jeans. Oh! I still have to take a butt selfie for @DaddyEvil.

I haven't started worrying over you taking so long to furnish the selfie, pony... I figured you must feel you needed extra time to do some extra leg lifts and kick backs to tighten a muscle or two before braving taking and posting your butt selfie online for the ladies to admire!

I haven't shopped for boots that go up to the knee or slightly below in ages. I had one pair that was perfect, my jeans fit in them and they were just the right length. I wore them everywhere. Now I hardly wear boots at all.

I have furry boots not Uggs, but like those from Target that I love. I have 2 shorter length and one higher length. But I never really owned any boots that are leather. But then again, I know when I do find a pair - I'd be lazy to wear them especially taking on/off, hehe.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I'm jelly. I have yet to find leather ones I like/fit - lol. Mines some sort of suede with the fur.

@infatuatedbby I've never had any wiht the fur. Just the leather ones or cowboy boots. I had a few ankle type boots, one of which was suede. I hate suede.

I found the same problem! I tried on boots for a month until I finally found a pair that worked. They're leather, but they look like slouch boots... the legs are a bit wider than the type you zip up, but they're still nice looking. Now I'm on the hunt for work pants that I can wear these boots with. They don't seem to make skinny business pants... only leggings and I cannot pull off leggings!

@infatuatedbby I saw that.. was there last weekend. It was a bit chaotic though so I didn't look really hard. I got my boots at BonTon as the one in our mall was closing. They had 60% off everything so I got some nice winter boots marked $130 and only paid $50, then the slouch boots that were $70 I got for $30. I also got a nice coat for $20 and some clothes for the kids. Spent $150 total and got a ton of stuff!

Slouchy boots are nice - I haven't found one yet hopefully soon. Right now a ton of boots are on sale at Macys for 75%.

@katsmeow1213 Wow that is great deal! I don't have a BonTon here. I was at Macy's and in stores it was a mess with all the boots and random sizes. I tried on some but coupons do not apply so I went online and bought two pairs. I was able to get the boots for $20 (Ann klein) and $30 (boc brand) - they just shipped today so I should be receiving them in a few days! I can't wait, hopefully it'll work out..

@DaddyEvil I try to dress more serious, it's no more the time of mini-skirts and high boots. I still have a pair.

@LadyDuck I can easily understand that you might be a bit more serious minded than you were when you were 21, but since you just turned 23, are you sure you should be THAT much more serious, Anna? (teasing and grinning at you!)

@infatuatedbby I don't know how tall you are, but I think that shorter ladies have a tougher time getting boots because the wider part of their calf is closer to their foot - if you see what I mean.

A bit weird to me that this discussion would come up. Back around 1999 I had a GF that I lived with who wanted knee high leather boots. I bought her a pair and they were very expensive but she felt her legs were too skinny so we had to send them back. Those types of boots are hard to find for some women.

I don't want them too high or short - but they're so hard to find! They're either too narrow, too tight or they are ugly and I don't like them, Did she continue to bother you until she got the boots that fit her just right?

@infatuatedbby no she didn't. She had thin legs but had calf muscles and boots didn't fit We just gave up...she was a tiny girl but had a lot of muscle and not much stuff fitted her

I have one pair that is now a little too tight in the thighs, but I have another that works fine with my jeans. I got them at the Aerosole's outlet a few years ago on clearance.

I had a great pair of boots and couldn't get them on for the same reason. I never got to wear them. I was so excited to get them. THey were ones you could wear up as regular under the knee type boots or fold them down for more of a bootie. I loved them but I couldn't wear them.

@infatuatedbby ...No! I thought these surely would because they folded down like they did. But nope they sure wouldn't.

Is it because the weather is humid? And boots tend to be hot there in the Philippines?

Well, that is too bad that all of the pairs you tried on already weren't make to fit both leg/foot plus jeans, too... I ran into that problem several years ago, but my problem was caused by part of the exercises I was doing with my body building workouts. My calves were simply too large to slide into the boots easily. I finally went and had several pair of boots made specifically to fit me. It turned out, that I actually saved money by having them made to fit my legs because the boot maker said my measurements were off the norm far enough that I never would have found any to fit me, no matter how far I drove looking for the perfect pair. He then discounted my price because of the number of pair I ordered from him. NICE!

I have one last hope - my online purchase that should be here in 3-5 days That's awesome you were able to find a place/person to custom make your boots specifically for you! That's so cool like your own designer brand just for you he-he!

I used to have the same problem. That's why I go with the boots that have laces in addition to the zipper. It's an issue for sure.

Thats a good idea. That way you can loosen them up or tighten as you want to fit all types of legs.

Perhaps you could consider going for ankle high boots, they're really pretty. Although long boots do keep you warmer though. LOL, you are adorable for posting this.

I don't really need warmth much but I like the look of the higher boots. They have wide calves but they weren't available lol. I bought two online so hopefully they will work out. I will probably go for ankle boots next time. He-he.

Honestly, I think the fashion winter boots are simply made to fit Juniors sizing (aka teenagers) wich is why so many of us find it difficult to find a pair of boots that we can get our feet in let alone think our calves would fit. I know this pain as well but I have given up on finding anything because if I could fit them would they even be comfortable to walk in for more than a few moments. I'll stick with my sneakers.
