Have you head the heatbreaking story of the baby dolphin that was pulled out of the water. Found in the shallow waters on a beach, someone was going to return the baby to deeper water but people wanted to take pictures with it. So tourists pulled the baby back out of the water, and passed it around from person to person for photos. Unfortunately, though dolphins are mammals, they are not meant to be on land. Their bodies are not made for it. So while the selfish humans on the beach passed the sea creature around for selfie opportunities, the baby, of course, died. I bet some of the people invovled would even call themselves "animal lovers." How large has the human ego gotten that the chance to take a photo with a dying baby animal is more important than trying to save said animals life?

Dolphins are in ocean parks where the people are allowed to take a photo from a distance.

Photographing dolpins isn't a bad thing. Dragging a baby dolphin onto the beach and passing it around like a prop instead of a living thing, THAT is a bad thing.

It is such a shame, and a statement on humanity at large these days.

That is stupidity. They deserve to go to jail for animal abuse. Fortunately they have not killed a protected animal, else they can look forward to a few years in jail.

Refinement is seen only as far as eating, dressing and merri making. It does not go beyond that for most.

pretty sad that the selfie-obsessives were too dumb to realise the danger they put the dolphin in

That was very unjustified I would think.
