No Payout For Me This Month - So What?

$10

I'm in my fifth month on myLot. I joined last October and reached payout in November, December and January. Three months in a row, not bad. I thought it should go on like this but realised in January that things were slowing down. Why, I can't say. We all know that the account is a fickle customer. It rises quickly or slowly or is stagnant for a while depending on mysterious forces we'll never fathom. When I had reached $8 and the end of the month was approaching fast, I went into myself and did some soul-searching. Should I become more active than usual and stay on the site round the clock to reach the $10 goal post? Or should I take things easy and wait another month? It's not that I can pay my rent with my monthly myLot earnings. I can't even eat out with my husband with them. The money I get from myLot is a nice extra which goes into my virtual piggy bank for buying books online. There is something compulsive, isn't there, with these online accounts and deadlines. Although nobody is standing behind us urging us on, we tend to react. When I realised how silly this behaviour is, I stopped it. The moment I decided to let things be, I felt good. I'm now looking forward to next month when I'll get a greater sum. I can recommend this attitude. --- Photo: Wikimedia, Sar Maroof

I am happy if I reach payout every month but it is not compulsory for me to do so. The earnings are an added bonus to the fun that I have here and if things keep me busy offline and I can't be here much then that is not a problem. That said, I reached payout in December and missed by only a few cents in January. This month it looks like I will reach double the minimum thus making up for last month. It was not a goal and it just happened as I had more time available to be here. I know that once spring arrives and I will be busier with the pots on my balcony, I will not make it every month. No problem at all as long as the time that I do spend here is FUN!

This is recreation for me. The money is okay, it goes to PayPal and sits. I may use it at the end of the year for something.

During the old days at Mylot I usually reached payout every other month, which I was quite content with. I returned here in September expecting the same, but have reached the minimum every month so far.

That's the attitude to have. I never worry about the money. (I think you mean 'compulsive')

@MALUSE Thanks for taking it like that - I don't want to come across as a 'know-it-all'

@MALUSE I have become realistic. Due to the fact that my money needs to add up before it is worth having it converted to Euro I am here to share my writing with others. To enjoy interacting and to just plain having a good time.

Thank you! It's your (and my other online friends') moral obligation to point out such mistakes to me. :-)

I've known since early this month that I didn't have time to devote to reaching payout this month. Just think how big next months might be.

@Bhaskarjhborah just keep on interacting and enjoying. Your bank will increase while you're having fun and soon you'll realize that it is easy enough to earn and having fun is going to be your number 1 goal

It is weird the ebb and flow of earnings on a daily basis. One day you do good and the next you slump. Partly due to how well or not well your posts are responded to and how much commenting you perform.

It seems to me that even if I show the same activity every day, the financial reward varies greatly.

@MALUSE There is some sort of weird calculation going on which would explain the fraction out figures. There seems to be no set sum for each comment etc.

That is absolutely the best attitude to have. This is not to be stressful. I have a site where I was working for a daily goal, and each day it got higher, and harder to reach. Hubby says leave it be, cause it only causes stress. MyLot, on the other hand, gives me a lot of connections and friendship.

I came back last August/September, after a long hiatus. I haven't reached payout since coming back, but that's alright. I'm pretty busy with my kids and such, and don't always have a lot of time to spend here, but I'm alright with that. I'll reach it when I reach it. In the meantime, I'm having fun, and that's what matters.

I keep having showings on my house and have to leave all day. So I will not be making what I did last month but that is ok with me. some money is always better than no money.

That's why I only come here from time to time. I backed off in November and it's taken all this time to reach $8. It's not like I'm relying on that money for big things, it's just something that is nice extra income, but I've been trying to focus on other things. It's been nice getting tasks accomplished.

If I were worried about the money, I would have quit long ago. I only redeemed for the very first time in January, even though I started toward the end of September. I doubt that I'll redeem too much faster this go round either. Maybe once I get to not work two jobs, or if I can stay caught up even better this next year with my bookkeeping, then maybe I'll have more time in the colder months to hang out.

I am turning one month in a few days and I am just over half the minimum. I just enjoy writing, reading, and interacting here.

I don't have that attitude of keeping a target for me on myLot. :) I don't want to be doing anything mechanically. I need to feel when I reply or have fun. At times, towards the end of the month, I do race, as I said for fun. It can be fun...if you land into a couple of nice posts and keep interacting almost continuously around them. :)

Hey there my friend. I've joined at the same time as you. Though I did get paid 2 weeks go. You can make it in the next 7 days for the next payout. I'm going to try to make it next month, if not by this weekend. I need $8 to get there.

If you didn't make it this month, nest month might be your own. For me I'm moving very slowly, I don't think I will made it to $10 this month. Though I'm a new member I don't need to be worry, I know i'll soon get my first payout
