Here's why I spend time at myLot

For those of you I've known for a while you know that I am not a winter person. I hate cold, rainy dreary weather. I am a warm weather, summer person. Once warm weather starts the majority of my time is spent outside. In summer the pool is where you'll find me. When I joined myLot in mid-August I was not very active then or in September. It wasn't until October, once the pool was closed, that I started hanging out here more. I'll explain why.... Spending time online is something I have been doing for years. My husband and I retired 15 years ago, that's 15 years of just the two of us, 24/7, day in and day out. We have moved 4 times in 15 years, we don't get involved with neighbors, we are not church people and we have no family down here. It is just us, so to 'talk' to other people, to remain in touch with others, I chat here on myLot. To pass the dreary winter and keep myself busy I got involved in mystery shopping and then online writing. There are many places I spend time at on the internet for various reasons: * I like to 'talk' (just ask my husband) so here at myLot I can talk as much or as little as I want to. * I also like to give my opinion on things so I spend some time at CrowdTap. * I do the majority of shopping online which also enables me to easily find the products I need at the best prices. * I spend time doing e-mails, since our family and friends are back in New Jersey we keep in touch online. * I spend some time on Facebook posting photos and viewing photos of family and friends. So the amount of time I spend here on myLot compared to the total amount of time I spend online isn't as much a some assume. I go back and forth, I have tabs open for all of the above. My time online is spread out over several sites. I am not a daytime TV person - I watch the early news (5-6 am) and don't watch TV again until late afternoon. In between times I do what is necessary to keep a home going, I spend time with my husband and Ruby. I cook, clean and do what most of you do during the day, including time here. I am rarely on here in the evenings, if I am it isn't for a long period of time and it is mainly to check e-mail. MyLot isn't my world, it is something that keeps me in touch with others and allows me to express thoughts with others in the world. Why do you spend time here?
