Time Travel - Dream Meanings

I woke up crying this morning from a dream in which I'd travelled back in time and couldn't find my way back to the present, and I thought it was weird that this has happened to me three nights in a row now. Then I realised it hasn't - it was three consecutive dreams in one night and I 'woke up' from the first one in the second one, and woke from the second one in the third one, then I woke up from the third one in real life There were a lot of people from my past in these dreams (I can't really remember what happened now, and I can't remember the first dream at all) and none of these people would help me to survive in the past. The only person who would help me was my dad; he'd been in the past as well and he'd made a life for himself while he waited for me to find him so we could get back to the right time. A few different dream websites say that time travel dreams can happen in periods of change in your life, so I assume this is happening because I'm pregnant. I love having long and involved dreams, but I'd just rather not wake up crying!

Dreams have no meanings . If you give meanings to it , you will be stressed . Though i think in your case it seems that it's a sad one and you thought it was real.

Every dream has meaning - dreams are the result of our brains processing our memories and emotions while we sleep, and as such they can help us to identify our worries and even to find ways of solving our problems Did you know that every face you see in a dream is one you've seen in real life? When you pass strangers in the street, for example, their features are stored in your memory and can then be used in your dreams

@LilyBeBack Hmm , is that so . I don't want to give meaning to my dreams because they would scare me actually if i do . I would sometimes have nightmares and i don't like that .

@SIMPLYD If you have a nightmare, just remember it could have been caused by something as unimportant as a scary film you've seen - although dreams have meanings, they're not all important, and none of them are real life

That's a shame Although it's probably the case that you do have nice dreams but you only remember the bad ones, and there might be a reason for that so maybe it would be a good idea for you to look into their causes and see if there are any emotions/situations you need to work out

I believe that all dreams have a purpose. Sometimes it's just trying to work through and solve a problem, sometimes it is our subconscious trying to tell us something. Most dreams are never remembered but some stay with us when we wake up and either amaze us with their weirdness or can occasionally scare us so much that the insecurity or the depth of emotion they generate lasts for quite a long time, even as long as a day or two. A lot has been written about the supposed meaning of specific kinds of dreams and some of it seems to be relevant but, mostly, the real meaning (or warning) is individual and personal and is not something that can be generalised. I've often dreamt of incidents in the past but I don't remember ever dreaming about time travel (though I've often fantasized about it). I have often dreamt of being in a strange place, however, and of being lost and trying, with increasing frustration, to find my way back to where I should be. I don't think that I've ever been able to work out why I dreamed those dreams, though, but maybe that is the exact reason that they are memorable.

When I was a teenager I always had a curfew, and that curfew would always fall before it got dark outside, so that often made me dream that a series of events were preventing me from getting home on time, then suddenly it would be dark and that's when the panic set in - that's an example of a classic anxiety dream, I suppose, and my time travel dream gave me similar feelings of anxiety, but I still can't really work out exactly what it was all about

@LilyBeBack It seems, from what you say elsewhere, that 'stealing' was also a significant element. I've found that, with dreams like this, some level of the mind is still actively trying to hide the really important, underlying cause of the dream. It may be that the true message had something to do with stealing but that one of the layers above successfully focussed your concious memory on the anxiety to do with not finding your way back rather than on the other message.

Coincidentally I posted about time travel at about the same moment as you did. Were the destinations in time you were travelling to, years you've actually lived? Sorry you woke up distressed over it. Hopefully you won't have one like this again.

That's quite the coincidence! I think the real truth is that you read my mind... The locations in these dreams were all new to me - they all involved wide open spaces, which I like, and there was a lot of stealing going on. Some people were stealing from me, and I also stole things from others (before giving it back when I was caught).

Do you believe in dreams? And since I was pregnant I can tell you, you will have a lot of ''crying days'', it's like you start crying for nothing :D But no worries, it doesn't last too long :D

I believe that our dreams are the brain's way of processing our memories and emotions I hope they're not premonitions because I really don't want to be a time-traveller who gets trapped in the past I do keep crying for no reason, it's so annoying!! Worth it though
