Is myLot getting too big?

United States
February 25, 2016 8:01am CST
Don't get me wrong, I love the changes to myLot. The size of the font is easy to read. I also love that the photos are bigger....here comes the but.... I think the photos are now way too big. I have experimented with viewing them smaller, but then the size of the font shrinks also. I know this is minor in the scheme of things, but I thought I would point it out and see if anyone agrees. Other than that all is well in myLot land. Photo: pixabay.com/en/big-texan-route-66-steak-ranch-1038096/

They may be a little too big, but other than that, the new site is very good.

I think it should be possible to reduce the size some...if you are uncomfortable. I am quite comfortable with the size and layout.

I found that the photo I used on my last post was too big. I think it's noticable if the pictures are taller than they are wide. Otherwise I've been loving the way the photos show up.

The size of the pictures and fount doesn't bother me at all. I have bad eyesight so both work out find for me. But that might be just me.

@AbbyGreenhill I can see with my glasses on but if the print is to small it'll still be hard to,read.

@ShyBear88 The print in the discussion is fine, the pint here in the comments is too small I think.

I see fine with glasses, it's just that now it seems too big to me.

We had a lunch at the "Big Texas Steak" ranch, it was a nice experience. I agree about the photos, a maximum format is needed. Some people post too big images that slow down the page.

@AbbyGreenhill I am sure that I have a great photo of the inside with the cook grilling the steaks, but it is not digital, I have to go through hundred of photos.

@AbbyGreenhill This is what I also think. I do not have enough time and I do not have the motivation to do this.

@LadyDuck I have a huge box in the basement with photos that I keep saying I need to go thru - it will never happen with me I'm sure!

I don't think it's getting way too big. I think we need to get used to the new changes this week and weekend.

I think the images are too big and ideally they should still be beside or below the text rather than above it

@AbbyGreenhill yes too much going on before seeing the main text can deter readers from scrolling on

@arthurchappell I agree and then the photo also gets 'lost'

I think it's because they keep the original picture size now instead of thumbnailing it. If the original picture is big, it'll be big on here. If it's small, it'll be small on here. It's up to the person who's posting it to decide what gets shown.

@AbbyGreenhill I think too, it might be one of the problems with making so many changes. It has to take up a lot of bandwidth or whatever and it's probably going to change.

As a camera lover, I love the big photos.. It doesn't change anything on my computer or iPad, but I can understand you not liking it if it changes the look on your computer.

I like them big! I love photos and study them for details! I know it's kind of crazy. I also read so much online, the bigger the font the better. So i'm happy!

I too would like to second you that picture are bigger and almost covering 1/4th of the screen size, if we wish to work on a normal font. It would be better if pictures could be squeezed a bit.

I always think that sites are too big. I like small, intimate environments. Can't stop people from signing up. Many won't get it and will be gone anyway.

I didn't know the site was supposed to undergo a transformation. I logged in the other day and noticed it looks different. Seems a little weird for me but maybe because I got used to the old look...

They had talked about it a while ago but hadn't gone into details as to what the changes would be.
