Mmmm. Split Pea Soup

My daughter loves split peas. She fixed a big batch of split pea soup in the crock pot yesterday. It has the peas, carrots, onions and cut up bites of ham. Today is the second day and it is better than it was yesterday. Mmm. Tasty.
Did you know they contain fiber, vitamin c, folate and over half of the amount of vitamin a a man or woman need in their daily diets? It does have a lot of sodium in it however, so have to be careful not to over do it.
Are you a fan of split pea soup?

@Jessicalynnt ...Some are better than others. I would have liked more onions in mine. And the ham we used this time was extra salty which I don't care for. But it was tasty and we hadn't had it for a while.

@Hatley ...Just not use as much and make sure the ham or whatever is in it doesn't have a lot of salt in it.

It is one of my favorite soups. When we have a ham i look forward to using the bone as the base for the soup.

I actually never tried spilt pea soup - but it looks really good & sounds healthy too!

When I was a kid, I hated anything with any kind of peas. Now I like it, but I prefer white bean soup.
