Random Word Post – summitry

I find a random word by flipping through my 2003 The New Webster’s Concise Dictionary and write a quick – often silly – little post about it. # “summitry – 1 Meetings of officials of the highest rank, as heads of government. 2 The use or dependency upon such meetings to solve international problems.” Have heads of government ever had a summit to discuss their dependence on summitry?

In my book, "summitry" has always been when those grown-up adults are talking about summit which I can't understand. It's usually a sort of up and down noise with loud bits and soft bits but you can't make out the words at all, though you know they're talking about you. They often do seem to depend on these meetings to try to solve THEIR problems. Then they come out with a 'decision' which is supposed to solve MY problems (or, more likely, the problem which is ME). It rarely works, though.
