My husband and I got the sad news that a high school classmate died already. We both felt very sad. We only see our classmates during class reunions so it is really sad that one classmate will not be able to attend the next reunion anymore. The whole day, I kept thinking of her. I could not believe that the once bubbly classmate would perish this soon.

My Aunte is in her 90s. Some of her old friends are still around. But many have passed on.

That is sad but we all have our time to go. All you can do now is to remember your classmate fondly.

Yes now that she is gone, I have to just look at our high school photos to remember the good memories.

Well you still have some highschool friends who are still alive. You can still communicate with them if you will find them in social networks. All of my former classmates of mine are facebook friends. If it is a friend, I will be sad because I never get to thank that person for making highschool enjoyable for me. If it's a bully I will be sad because.....I never get to punch his face and now it is too late. (sorry for the joke)

@salonga Not bodyslamming my bully though a table is also one of my biggest regret too.

I guess its painful. I have had a colleague at work pass on, he met with a terrible accident on the way to work. I will never forget that day. He was the same age as I.

I would be really sad. I have not been in contact with any of mine for years. If I had found out one of my closest friends had passed away I would definitely be quite sad.

I've lost a few classmates, both from high school and college. I've also lost some favorite teachers. It always makes me sad. When it's someone I really liked, I try to carry bits of them forward in my own personality.

Unfortunately the age does not matter, even young people can die. I still remember when I lost one of my classmate, she was only 6 years old, killed by a car.

When you hear about people the same age as you dying, it makes you think - 'could have been me', doesn't it? Sorry about your friend.
