Theodor Geisel is the real name of the author who wrote the Dr. Suess series of books. He was born on March,2,1904. He actually published 46 children's books as Dr. Seuss. This pen name was started after he got kicked off the Dartmouth College literary humor magazine. He wrote such books as "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and "Green Eggs and Ham". He wrote and illustrated all of the books. Probably my favorites of his is the one called "Orton Hears A Who" and one about socks called "Fox in Sox" ,and there was one about sleep that was cute too. Which is your favorite(s)?

My son is celebrating his birthday in class today! I have always loved Dr. Seuss. When I was a kid, my friend had a whole collection of his books and I was so envious of that. When I became an adult, I finally got my own collection and have been able to pass the joy along to my kids. My all time favorite has got to be "Green Eggs and Ham" - but I also loved The Cat in the Hat - and The Grinch . . . . . oh, I just love all of them!!!!!!!

I have read the name of Dr Seuss a lot on the Internet, but I haven't really read any of his books yet. Perhaps I should check it out, as it seems like his children books are highly recommended by many people. Happy birthday to Dr Seuss!

I really want to buy his "new" one. You know, the one they found buried in his papers no one had seen? I think my niece would like it. I believe it's called "What Pet Should I Get?"

It was strange seeing this as I was just reading about it. I liked the Cat in the Hat best and read it any number of tiems to my children.

Dr. Seuss,
Can't think of which one was my favorite right now. But I bought a set of his books and with it came a backpack. Including a photo of it.
